FAST TIPS to Thaw Frozen
When temperatures drop, frozen pipes can slow even the most efficient home.
If toilets don’t refill after flushing, or faucets aren’t flowing, it may be time to
thaw your pipes with these quick tips:
Shut off the water line and inspect visible plumbing
lines in exterior walls or crawl spaces.
If the frozen pipe is accessible, use indirect heat to
warm the area gently. Try a space heater, a hair
dryer, or heat lamp.

For inaccessible lines or possible burst

Show Your Hands: While gloves look great, mittens

Hot Chocolate Recipe

3 cups whole milk
¾ cup water
3 tablespoons cocoa
powder (per serving)
6 oz semisweet chocolate
(finely chopped)
3 tablespoons granulated
sugar
Lightly sweetened
whipped cream
1) Bring water to a simmer
in medium saucepan over
medium-high heat
2) Whisk in cocoa powder,
then add milk and return
to simmer
3) Whisk in chocolate
and sugar, blending until
mixture is smooth and
chocolate has melted

Check Into The World-Famous Icehotel
The world’s first icehotel opened in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, in 1990,
following a popular 1989 ice art exhibition. Every year, crews use
thousands of tons of local ice and snow to build a bar, church,
main hall, reception area, plus about 100 rooms for guests.
Walls, furniture, décor, and even glasses are made of ice.
Unfortunately, suites don’t include bathroom facilities
or electrical sockets.
