Hi there! Pleased to meet you. Our names are Melinda & Meredith 

Preve and we co-founded and run the Witty Gritty Paper Co from our 

old elementary school classrooom turned studio in charming Buffalo, 

NY. We create stationery and desk accessories for silver-tongued 

optimists. 

We believe enthusiastically that connecting through the mail is a 

bespoke, irreplacably thoughtful way to forge greater connections 

with those all around us -- wether it be your best friend who’s 

struggling in a rough patch, your super cool cat sitter’s birthday, or 

that neighbor who just baked you the most amazing peach pie. Our 

designs are aimed to make you say “it’s like it was taken right out of 

my brain!” 

Our cards are all a spiffy size A2, and produced using 100% 

post-consumer recycled paper and vegetable inks in sunny California. 

Every shipment, both retail & wholesale is offsetted by our carbon 

offset shipping program -- which is just fancy board room talk for 

cleaning up the pollution which is caused by package transport. 

WG’s products feature all our original illustrations and observations.

The Witty Gritty Paper Co. started as a doodle on 

the back of a tim hortons napkin (if you’re not 

from the northeast, you should totally look them 

up,) and since then we’ve made it a yearly tradition 

to make our annual business plan on the very 

same napkins. Yes, we do in fact get some strange 

looks from our accountants. That very first one is 

framed and hanging above our desks. 

Our co-founder Meredith, has kept every card, 

note and letter she’s ever received since the age of 

13. You could say she’s passionate about what she 

does... that’d be a fair assessment. 

Literally all of our bestselling cards have been 

born out of real life moments - wether it be the 

incredibly persuasive looks our dogs adopt 

when someone’s eating a leftover browine over 

the sink, or our shared and undying love of 

Frasier and The Golden Girls. 

Viewing some printing proofs of new designs 

During the first few years of doing business, we 

actually printed, trimmed and scored every single 

card by hand, one at a time. So, we are one of the 

few businesses that can say the phrase “blood, 

sweat and tears” and have it be 100% true. Don’t 

worry, we never sent out any of the ones with 

blood. As far as we know.

Carriage Paid: 

All orders $200 and over ship for free within the 

U.S. Orders below $200 ship for a flat rate of $10 

within the U.S. 

Turnaround Time: 

All orders will ship out from our Buffalo, NY 

studio within a max of 7 business days of 

placement, but usually much faster. If you need 

something in a rush, just let us know and we’ll 

move mountains to make that happen. 

International Ordering: 

We love our international friends! If your store is 

located in Canada, the UK or Australia, please 

message us for a copy of our price sheet with 

your correct currencies displayed. All of our 

terms are the same for International orders, with 

the exception of our carriage paid level, which is 

different for each of the aforementioned 

countries. If you are located elsewhere, please 

get in touch with the items you’d like and we’ll 

get right back with a bespoke shipping quote for 

you and an accurate total in your local currency. 

Please note that the buyer is responsible for all 

import duties and taxes associated with any 

order. 

Damages & Lost Packages: 

If an item is faulty or damaged in transit, 

please let us know by email within 7 days of 

delivery. We will gladly send out replacements 

for all of the damaged items asap, and the cost 

of returning a faulty or damaged item to us will 

also be reimbursed. 

Should a package go missing, we will send you 

an immediate replacement and pursue a claim 

with USPS ourselves. Should the initial package 

eventually make its way to you after all, we will 

also reimburse you the cost of returning it to 

us. In all of the years we’ve been shipping, we 

have had very very few go missing and those 

that have, have always eventually turned up. 

Returns & Stock Amnesty: 

We do not accept traditional returns for unsold 

merchandise. However, we will be happy to 

grant you a stock amnesty to switch out any 

items you have remaining that you’d prefer to 

swap out for something new. These stock 

amnesties will be granted at our discretion 

provided the following conditions are met; 

- All of the items in questions have been in 

your store for at least 6 months 

- All of the items in question are in their 

original, unused condition, and still salable. If 

the cello is worn, that is okay, but the card 

itself must not have any defects 

- We are not able to switch out more than $50 

worth of merchandise at one time 

- Stock amnesties will not be granted more 

than 2 times to a single store, per calendar year 

- Buyer is responsible for paying the shipping 

costs to return the items to us, whereas we will 

cover the costs of sending out the new items 

- The batch of items that you want to swap out 

has the same value as what you are requesting 

to replace it

Payment Terms: 

Payment is due in full when your order is ready to 

dispatch. We accept all major credit cards as well 

as checks. Please note that paying with a check will 

delay shipment a bit, as we will wait for it to clear 

before dropping the order in the mail. 

We know that having more time to pay is some 

great retail gravy. Net 30 will be considered by 

request at our discretion to vetted accounts. 

Unfortunately, we will have to revoke these terms 

if 2 consecutive orders are not paid on time. From 

one small business to another, thank you very 

much for your understanding! 

Third-Party Resale: 

Buyers are welcome to sell any WG products they 

purchase in their brick and mortar store, as well as 

on their specific store’s website. 

Buyers are not permitted, however, to resell WG 

products on any third-party marketplace website, 

such as, but not limited to: Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, 

etc. 

Privacy Policy: 

The information you provide to us (such as phone 

number, address, payment details, email) will be 

used exclusively to process your orders and to let 

you know about any new releases or sales that we 

have going on. We pinky swear we will not share 

any of your personal information with any other 

party. 

Copyright Disclaimer: 

All designs, images, logos and trademarks 

associated with WG and all of its products and 

marketing materials are the exclusive property of 

the Witty Gritty Paper Co. This copyright is not 

transferred with the sale of our goods. We maintain 

our right to be identified as the owner of 

materials. 

Insurance: 

All orders are insured for the standard $50 when 

they are shipped via USPS Priority mail. All 

shipments come with a tracking number. We will 

ship orders insured for their full amount by 

request. Should it become necessary, we will 

pursue any claims with USPS ourselves. 

Cancellation Policy: 

If you need to cancel your order, please get in 

touch with us via email or phone within 12 

hours of placement. We try to get orders out 

lightning quick, sometimes as soon as the 

same business day, so we cannot accept 

cancellations after this time frame has passed. 

Color Variances: 

Please note that our cards are all offset printed 

-which translates to them being very 

consistent in color, however due to differences 

in browsers and monitor settings, small 

variances in color from our website & catalog 

to real life are to be expected. In our humble 

opinion, these cards look better than ever in 

person. 

Sales Tax: 

If you are located in New York, we are required 

to collect a resale certificate from you. A copy 

can either be snail mailed to us or sent as an 

attachment to an email. 

Exclusivity: 

We understand that it is a top priority to make 

sure that your store retains its unique voice 

through the items you offer and that this voice 

isn’t as strong if these same items are offered 

all up and down your street. Exclusivity will be 

granted at our discretion based on multiple 

factors such as: area requested, distance 

between competing shops, and items 

interested in having exclusively. Any shop that 

is granted exclusivity will need to agree to a 

fixed re-ordering schedule that is renewed on 

an annual basis. 

Sale Or Return (Consignment:) 

We’re happy to offer you sale or return for a 

trial period of three months. After that, we can 

either part company or switch to 

wholesale-only. This trial period is extended 

on a case-by-case basis, based on a number of 

factors including store’s location, reputation 

and number of similar lines already carried.

Photography: 

You are welcome to photograph any WG items 

that you have stocked for your shop’s own 

personal marketing efforts, however we 

humbly request that you credit/tag us as the 

maker wherever possible. If you are looking for 

some done-for-you marketing materials, 

please refer to our Retailer Tool Kit - which is 

filled with our high quality images that are free 

for your use provided you are an active 

stockist. We also fill the tool kit with fun 

promotion ideas, email subject lines, and 

display ideas from time to time so make sure 

you take a look.

you when you joined us, but if you can’t find it 

please reach out and we’ll be happy to give you 

access! 

Good Faith: 

We know that small business folk are often the 

very best folk, so we just have a few additional 

stipulations that we know you would never 

think of doing anyway. 

- It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure 

WG’s products are not sold in a manner which 

may bring our company into disrepute, or 

through discount houses. 

- Any discounts or promotions that we offer to 

our retail audience are not applicable to 

wholesale. We do occasionally offer specials for 

wholesale, so sign up for our mailing list so 

you don’t miss out! 

- If you or your shop receives any press 

features (congrats!!) and you generously 

choose to exhibit some WG items that you have 

stocked, please credit us as the maker.
