Starting in hairdressing aged 13, Richard was instantly hooked
on the industry. Spending any free time he could in the salon
watching and learning, he quickly gained his qualifications and
excelled - producing his own artisan hair show aged just 16.

However, by the age of 22 Richard felt constrained and wanted the opportunity to
grow and move forward with his career, and he decided to move on.
Richard opened The Boutique aged just 22 with one idea in mind, to create the
type of salon he’s always wanted to work in - where the craft of hairdressing is
always put first, skills and passion are developed and championed, and clients can
be sure they always receive the very best the industry has to offer. Richard and his
talented team of multi-award winning hairdressers - welcome you to their vibrant,
and busy salon.
Richard is one of the UK’s most in-demand stylists, with his skills being called
upon by some of the world’s largest brands in luxury haircare including L’Oreal
Professional and GHD. He writes, educates and instructs worldwide at academies
from Canada to Dubai. His biggest passion within hairdressing is education, not
only for his own team & students, but also for himself as he constantly keeps upto-date
with the very latest cutting & styling techniques, spending time studying
each year at Vidal Sassoon in London. He has also studied at the prestigious
Central St. Martins University of Fashion in London.
Richard’s passion for hairdressing has seen him amass a cult celebrity following
with stars from Coronation Street and many other major TV shows calling on him
to get them red-carpet ready. He has worked on TV shows including: Britain’s
Next Top Model, Hollyoaks, X-Factor and Eastenders to name a few.
Richard has styled the hair for advertising campaigns for ZARA which have been
featured on their websites across the world and in over 2000 stores in 96
countries.
Internationally in demand for fashion shows, Richard works backstage at all the
major fashion weeks across the world, including: New York, London, Milan &
Paris. He has styled hair for brands including •Chanel •Balenciaga •Vivienne

apprenticeships
At The Boutique Atelier we are always looking forward and that not
only means in our hairdressing but also looking forward to the next
generation of hairdressers. We take 3 new apprentices every summer.
Our apprenticeships on average take 3 years to complete. However it
is possible to fast track and complete in 2 years depending on their
dedication and commitment to training.
Our apprentices work full time including 1 day a week attending the
Andrew Collinge graduates academy. All their training events and
education days at college are paid for by the salon as well as a wage
while they train.
They receive 1 full days training at the Andrew Collinge Academy as
well as 3 hours a week dedicated 1 on 1 in-salon training. During
each day at the salon they work along side award winning
hairdressers who talk them though what they are doing and help
them with learning the skills needed for hairdressing.
They have the opportunity to travel to London each year to attend
the Salon International trade show. Our assistants which have
excelled have the chance to work both backstage and on stage at
events though out the year assisting Richard and other team
members. Our previous apprentices have gone on to countless
industry awards and work at London Fashion week, red carpet TV
events and on magazine photoshoots.

Training sessions for our apprentices take place on Tuesday and
Thursday mornings 9-12 and we are always looking for hair models
for them. If you are interested in helping our apprentices with their
education and allowing them to cut, colour or style your hair please
speak with our apprentices in salon and they can book your
appointment.
All appointments on our training mornings include your blow-dry,
please note photos will be taken of your hair for our students college
assessments.

Our Master Stylists are educated to the very highest level in all aspects of hairdressing. They have
amassed an expert wealth of knowledge and can guide you with concerns about hair loss, scalp
conditions and any other hair related problems. Our Master Stylists follow a strict and consistent
programme of education to maintain their knowledge and use this knowledge to educate other stylists
both internally and externally for brands including L’Oreal Professional and Babyliss Pro.
SENIOR STYLIST
Our Senior Stylists are at the top of their professional game, having developed their skills by attending
various training experiences, our senior members of the team know their strengths. They have a loyal
and busy client base so booking in advance is essential.

Our Stylists are passionate & driven, developing their skills through our ongoing training programmes.
They offer high quality work at an affordable price point. Our Stylist team are able to create the hair of
your dreams.
GRADUATE
After completing a 3 year apprenticeship at the salon, our Graduate team are finding their own vision
and style of hairdressing. They spend 2 years developing their craft, refining their skills and their
personal style of hairdressing before graduating to a full stylist.

atelier memberships
The Boutique Atelier is excited to launch salon memberships exclusively for regular guests. This offers a cost effective way to have
your hair done as often as you need. Once you are signed up and have your membership card, you can visit as often as you like. Your
visits really are unlimited. Payments are taken on the first of every month by direct debit and one months notice to cancel must be
given in writing.

# Blow dry appointments are capped at 45 minutes. If you have
extensions or your natural hair requires a 1 hour appointment to be
scheduled a surcharge of £10 will be payable on each appointment.

Appointments booked in advance are charged at the full price.
# Appointments are available with all our stylists, even Richard’s
schedule is included! When you call to schedule your appointment
our reception team will let you know who’s free that day and you can
pick who styles your hair.
# Appointments on key days such as Saturdays may be limited, please
call at 9am on these days to avoid disappointment.
# You can bring a friend once a month to use your unlimited blowdry’s.
This client must be new to the salon and can only use your
membership benefits on their first visit to the salon when
accompanying you.
# You can call anytime of the day to book in for that day but please
note we can only offer you an appointment if we have a space, if we
are fully booked unfortunately we can not style your hair.

# Lightening hair involves using strong chemicals, if our team feel your
hair has not grown enough for them to safely colour it without causing
damage we reserve the right to refuse to colour your hair.
# When using ammonia free colours to cover grey the damage is
minimised but colouring excessively can cause the hair to darken past the
chosen colour due to overlapping. We reserve the right to refuse to colour
your hair and if darkening happens dues to excessive colouring the
correction of this is a chargeable service.
# You may bring a friend once a month to use your unlimited blow drys but
all colour services are only allocated to the named member.

The ultimate in luxury hair care, this membership allows you unlimited access to our
salon with all appointments booked on the day. Every service we offer for your natural
hair is included, all colour treatments, texture treatments, cutting and styling are
unlimited throughout the month as well as L’Oreal Professional aftercare.

Our Colour Specialist team have completed the prestigious L’Oreal Professional colour specialist degree
and between them they boast multiple awards nominations and wins, This intensive education
programme which is equivalent to a university degree is only available to the very best colourists in the
country and enables them to approach colouring hair from a technical and scientific angle and gives them
the qualifications to teach at the L’Oreal Professional academies.

Our Expert team have completed the “certified colourist” qualification with L’Oreal professional which is
an in-depth and cohesive training programme for colourists with exceptional skills. Gaining this globally

Botanēa is a 100% Herbal Professional Hair Colour composed of 3 herbal ingredients. When
mixed with hot water, these 3 powders enable colourists to create an infinite palette of shades and
tailor them to each client.

Smartbond is a two-step process which allows the colourist to protect the hair & prevent damage
during a technical service. Recommended to upgrade all colour services but essential when
lightning.
Step 1 : Bond Strengthening Additive
Smartbond Step 1 contains maleic acid which works smartly during chemical processes, such as
lightening and colouring, it limits the oxidative stress and preserves the strong bonds & captures
the ions and allows the reconstruction of weak hair bonds.
Step 2 : Bond Strengthening system pre-shampoo
Smartbond Step 2 is applied to the hair once the colour or lightener is removed as a preshampoo.
It also contains maleic acid which continues to capture the ions to allow the weaker
bonds to reform. It contains a blend of ceramides & polymers to provide condition & shine to the

Step 3: Conditioner

REGROWTH TINT
A quick fix root touch-up to tame those rebellious roots & cover the first signs of
grey. For hair with up to 6 weeks of growth.
LONG REGROWTH TINT
A long regrowth application for those colours which have grown past 6/8 weeks.

The Boutique Atelier offer a wide range of extensions for
all hair types and use only the finest quality, ethically
sourced human hair. As well as permanent extensions we
also offer a range of instant extensions which can be
worn to enhance your natural hair with no commitment
to maintenance.
Extensions are individually priced for each client. Prices
are dependent on: the length of hair, colour, thickness
and finished result requested.
A consultation in the salon is required before any
extension service can be quoted for.
Richard has won the title ‘British Hair Extensionist of
the Year’ on 3 separate occasions, and he has fitted
extensions for celebrities, red-carpet stars and for TV
and magazine shoots.
His skills at creating the perfect blend of colours and
texture have been in demand backstage at fashion shoots
around the world, where he has fitted extensions for:

wig personalisation
We understand hair loss can affect you on many different levels and the anxieties this can cause. We hope through the help we
provide, to fully support you and inspire you to have the hair you need and deserve. This service is designed to help personalise and
make wearing a wig a less daunting experience and is carried out by only Richard.
We offer you the opportunity for private appointments at no extra cost, after The Boutique Atelier closing hours if preferred, as well
as discrete home appointments. Richard has been trained to work with wigs for medical hair loss by Trevor Sorbie himself, and we
are affiliated with his charity ‘My New Hair’. We can advise you through all aspects of both hair loss and regrowth, as well as
supplying, fitting and maintaining your wig.
Richard can work with both human and synthetic wigs and can explain the benefits of each during your consultation.
As well as working with the wigs we supply we can customise your NHS wig to better suit your face shape and allow the wig to
look more natural and discreet. Wig personalisation is a one hour appointment and is charged at £75.

Surgical hair replacement services we offer. Using 100% human hair
Richard can create a custom hair loss solution which can be fixed to
your scalp for a discrete and natural looking solution to thinning hair or
we offer a daily piece which is simply clipped over the thinning area and
styled into the rest of your hair to blend seamlessly.

At The Boutique Atelier, we believe every wedding is
beautifully individual, so we help personalise your special day
to best suit you.
Team Boutique Atelier are able to visit you at your venue or
home on your big day, to help get you looking picture perfect.
There is an additional call-out charge for this service.
If your wedding team includes Richard, this is priced at £60
per hour. If the team does not include Richard it is priced at
£45 per hour for your first stylist, with an additional £10 per
hour for every extra stylist required. These charges will include
the time your Boutique Atelier wedding team takes to travel to
and from your venue.
