Das schon im Mittelalter erwähnte
„hittinsowe“ liegt erhöht zwischen
Subersach und Bolgenach. Wiesen,
Auen und wildromantische
Schluchten, bewaldete Höhen und
grüne Alpen sind die Herzstücke
dieser Landschaft. Die grünen
Zungen ragen hinein bis ins
Dorfzentrum, wo die Pfarrkirche
und stattliche Gasthöfe einen
Raum der Begegnung schaffen.
Mit knapp 2.000 Einwohnern
und nicht einmal halb so vielen
Gästebetten ist der Gast in Hittisau
gut aufgehoben – in den Händen
der seit Generationen geführten
Familienbetriebe genauso wie in
den privaten Häusern. Unterwegs
im Dorf oder in der freien Natur,
gegrüßt wird hier, auch wenn man
sich nicht kennt.
Hittisau, mentioned in the
Middle Ages as “hittinsowe”, lies
elevated between the two rivers
Subersach and Bolgenach in a

leas, untamed romantic gorges,
hilly woodlands and green alpine

green reach right into the centre
of the village where the parish
church and a number of fine inns
offer a place to meet.
Just under 2,000 people live in
the village, with room for less
than a thousand guests. You will

hotels or in a private B&B. People
in the village and out and about
exchange a friendly “hello” with
friends and visitors alike.
