It’s with great pride that I introduce to you our first<br />
product brochure.<br />
The <strong>Richardsons</strong> journey started back in my<br />
childhood at ‘The Market’. Now known as the<br />
Limerick Milk Market, it was my shop window<br />
when I first began in the 1970s. From the earliest<br />
age, I had a passion for growing houseplants,<br />
lettuces and vegetables… I loved sowing, tending<br />
and harvesting. Enthusiastic to find consumers for<br />
my fresh produce, my route to market was ‘The<br />
Market’. Every Saturday morning, what a wonderful<br />
bustling ‘university of life’ this became for me! Early<br />
morning starts, my own freshly harvested produce,<br />
a commitment to look after my customers and the<br />
teamwork of my highly supportive family… this is<br />
how I first put down my roots in fresh foods!<br />
On completion of my education in horticulture, I<br />
progressed to growing commercially at my own<br />
market garden in County Limerick. I soon developed<br />
a loyal customer base of chefs from many of the<br />
region’s best hotels and restaurants. They valued<br />
the quality of my freshly harvested crops as their<br />
ingredients. I began sourcing complementary<br />
produce from a network of the best growers around<br />
the country in order to provide the freshest seasonal<br />
produce for my customer.<br />
I am proud to say that to this day, <strong>Richardsons</strong> still<br />
serve many of my first customers! A sincere ‘thank<br />
you’ to those and all my valued customers along the<br />
way who have entrusted their business to me.<br />
As with every journey, the people with you make<br />
all the difference! The support of my parents<br />
and siblings got me off to a great start. Today<br />
the <strong>Richardsons</strong> ‘family’ is so much broader. We<br />
have a fantastic team of committed fresh food<br />
specialists working with us, both inside and outside<br />
<strong>Richardsons</strong>. Our wonderful staff work 24/7 to<br />
deliver excellence in all we do. We carefully select<br />
our hard-working growers and trusted producers<br />
across the parish, county, country and beyond.<br />
Together we are passionate about providing the<br />
very best ingredients and our purpose is to serve our<br />
freshest and finest produce to our customers!<br />

McCormack’s story started over 40 years ago and<br />
continues to grow ever since.<br />
When they first began growing on the McCormack<br />
Family Farms way back in 1984, they started with just<br />
half a hectare of outdoor growing, a small acre of land<br />
that today has grown to producing over 200 hectares<br />
of crops per year. Also located on the farm is 1 hectare<br />
of glasshouse for potted herbs and 1 hectare of<br />
polytunnel for growing herbs.<br />
Stephen and his team supply the best in season salad<br />
leaves to us daily to ensure you are serving the crispiest,<br />

Gems, Lollo Rosso, Oakleaf and Butterhead. Matt’s lifelong experience as a<br />

Annaghs Poultry farm was founded in 1964 by<br />
Charles McKenna. Today, succeeded by his sons,<br />

Apple varieties for juices include:<br />
Katy – an early season apple, bright red in colour with hints of green and yellow. These<br />
apples have a refreshing acidity across a balanced strength of flavour. Katy’ also make a<br />
very tasty juice and lend themselves well to the creation of our Raw Apple Cider Vinegar.<br />
Elstar – A golden yellow and deep red apple with an intense flavour profile. Its natural<br />
sweetness is offset by a complementary level of acidity to make this a fine tasting apple.<br />
Its honey notes make this a great apple for both eating and for juicing.<br />
Rosette – A rather unique apple with a deep red colour and a red flesh. This red colour is<br />
then imparted into juice when pressed. Its taste is often described to contain raspberry<br />
and strawberry notes. We’ve created a delicious award winning juice using Rosette apples<br />
or it can be enjoyed as a delicious snack straight from the tree in mid-August harvest.<br />
Dabinette – A late season cider apple which we use to create our Raw Apple Cider Vinegar.<br />
With a high sugar content and aromatic flavours this apple variety helps to impart all that<br />
is needed to make our delicious apple cider vinegar, all on its own.<br />
