Primary Times Leicestershire & Rutland IT’S A SPRING THING It’s a Spring Thing Holiday Heraldry! The Easter holidays at the King Richard III Visitor Centre is all about heraldry! You can design and colour your own shields and pennants and dress up as a knight, ready for battle or join our shield trail where you can collect stamps from around the exhibition to complete your battle shield – everyone completing a shield will receive a special prize. Over the Easter weekend (19th – 21st April) we will be recreating King Richard III’s coat of arms in LEGO. The coat of arms includes two huge white boars - come along and help us build it, brick by brick! With Easter being later this year it pushes it closer to the May Day Bank Holiday, so the Billy Bates team have extended their usual Easter Fair in Abbey Park so that it will include both Bank Holidays (and hopefully a good deal of nice weather). They’ve put together another fantastic family Fun Fair that will keep everyone entertained during these forthcoming school breaks. Each year the organisers make changes to keep this event looking fresh and interesting with this year being no exception. Some of the ever popular attractions like the Dodgems, Waltzer and Twister will always add the traditional eliminate to the Fair. But then there’s the Take Off, Extreme and The Beast to keep the thrill seekers happy. If people just want to donate a Jigsaw direct to the organisers, they have a team who will assemble them. Also if people want to donate directly to the organiser, they need 500 piece size puzzles for distribution to all Elderly Residents’ Complexes in Rutland. Children’s Jigsaws are also needed so they can be distributed to Primary Schools.
