be possible to obtain measurements of both space and time from any nucleon -- for
example, time from e and space from c or vice versa by appropriate ways of measuring
the behaviors of charge and light speed. (We will have to deal with the problem of
interpreting the electrical unit coulombs in terms of mechanical units later on.)
Access to pi involves only rolling a wheel one rotation and then comparing the distance
rolled to the wheel's width. Thus no errors are found in pi. The other constants are not
at human scale and thus present a much greater challenge. The 1-meter unit has to fall
inevitably out of an understanding of the other units involved (e and c), although it
clearly relates to the definitions of the ampere and coulomb. The second also has to be
bound up in the automatic "clock" that is built into e and c.
It turns out that an average day on earth can be divided nicely into 24 hours, each hour
consisting of 60×60 = 3600 seconds, or a total of 86,400 seconds per day. Thus the
second naturally became the ordinary small unit for measuring time because of the
natural divisions of a cycle into portions divisible by 60 and 12. However, local Earth
units will not do for the universe at large. Thus we must turn to quantum measurements
in order to define our basic units.
The Senet Oracle Board Gnomon
On the Senet Board Oracle Layout (see below) the House of the Heart is on the closest
square to the center on the left side. Khenemew works the Potter's Wheel that sits
almost exactly in the center of the bottom row on the right side. The Feather of Maat is
much farther over on the right side. Death adjusts the little heart-shaped lead knob, but
Baba the Baboon disrupts his attention with the Eye of Wisdom that transcends all the
fine balancing done during the Weighing of the Heart.
(Units on a standard Senet Board Gnomon or Pendulum clock are squares.)
