How global warming and wildfires have affected<br />
the growing of grapes in the B.C. wine region<br />

The wildfires in B.C. made headlines<br />
last summer, but for B.C.’s wine<br />
industry, winemakers were concerned<br />
with how smoke taint could potentially affect<br />
their harvest this year.<br />
Smoke taint is a major concern for<br />
winemakers, and although the wildfires<br />
ravaged a lot of B.C. crops, it didn’t seem to<br />
affect the grapes too much for this year’s<br />
harvest. In fact, according to winemakers in<br />
the province, the harvest was a bit slow to<br />
begin with, thanks to global warming.<br />
