<strong>2018</strong> K-9 STATISTICS<br />

The Sheriff’s K-9 unit is comprised of nine K-9 teams,<br />

consisting of four breeds: a Dutch Shepherd, five<br />

Belgian Malinois’ two Bloodhounds, and a German<br />

Shorthair Pointer. All K-9 teams are certified through<br />

the North American Police Working Dog Association.<br />

The Bloodhound teams are also certified through the<br />

National Police Bloodhound Association.<br />

The Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit consists<br />

of two donated Tennessee Walkers -- Good Luck<br />

Chuck and Cookie. The horses are boarded at<br />

Heritage High School. The horses and their equine<br />

handlers are utilized for assistance with searches<br />

for missing persons in rugged terrain and for special<br />

events and parades.
