How Women Are Getting into Automotive Industry

utomotive machines are produced in large number for supplying them to
United Kingdom and other countries with vehicles. Women is already in
every field and they are also playing important roles in the automotive

industry. Women are working equally with men now. They are strong and they work
in every industry. In this industry women are growing rapidly in every country
throughout the world.
1.Ratio of women in automotive industry:
In 2016, women in this field was around 14% in this industry, but this ratio was
getting higher day by day. In 2018 ,8% women were reported among the top 30 in
the best automotive companies in the world. This is small change from 8% in 2014.
It is reported in a survey recently that the automotive industry is one of the least
successful at attracting and retaining women so with the passage of time this rate will
increase.
2. Women safety:
In many industries, women are always reporting high levels of bias harassment. In
automotive industry there are less cases of harassment compared with the tech
advertising industries. They feel unsafe at work that’s the other main reason why
women are reporting about other industries. Women have unsure sense of job security
and in this field, there are lower chances of that. Female staff feel safe that also shows
good sense of security in this field. Working in male dominated environment can
bring out many challenges. There should also be establishments of childcare where
mothers can be assured of their child safety. There should be flexible working hours
allowed for them so that they can create a balance in personal and professional life.

3. Education:
Women should get education about automotive industry. All automotive colleges are
featuring women along with men to show that this is a good career for them. Many
women in this industry are asked to promote the culture in colleges by giving
presentations and giving some information related to this industry.
4. Training:
Training extra people to allow for job sharing and part time working are good options.
Making training center for women where they get training and get experienced are
also good choices. MOT assessment is the best way to train more women in this
industry.
5. Equality of gender:
There are many challenges which are being faced by women but one of them is not
being treated equally by employers and the industry. Women are involved in making
decisions for which cars should be bought but in industry there only exists 16% of
women. There is another challenge which is being faced and that should be diversity
in work place and environment, because it provides more information about them in
this field and advancement in career. Women are quite hesitant before to join different
communities for training and in networking but they are becoming fast paced in this.
For this they must be provided some support and should be appreciated in their
companies and in communities.
