Spring is a time of creation.
Nature’s beginning to paint the earth with a living and dynamic
palette while we’re pulling out our own proverbial paint brushes in the
form of seeds, maps, ideas and wishes to make the most of each warm
weather day ahead.
Much like the meditative quiet of nature’s long winter nap, our winter
dreaming of spring and summer goodness to come, has reached the point
of springing into action. (pun intended)
As Walt Disney once famously said:
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
And that begs the question...
What kind of Spring and Summer are you going to dream into creation?

You know that moment?
The one when you find yourself in the right place,
at the right time?
That moment has a name, I call it Serendipity.
Do you want to know best part about Serendipity?
It’s a lot like that quote by Jon Kabat-Zinn:
“Where-ever you go, there you are.”
It’s not a riddle.
Wherever you go, Serendipity is lurking nearby. In
fact, she’s waiting for you to look up and discover
the moments she’s concocted with you in mind.
Move forward with eyes wide open and you’ll find
Serendipity cracking open windows of opportunity
that you’ve only dreamed of.
It’s time.

Zip off that anorak and put away your winter toque.

through an awefully long winter just to cross paths with

Panning

for Gold
When
we dream of our futures we’re often filled with loads
of shoulds, nots, buts and other negative bits.
Some call this a practical infusion of reality. Albeit, in
actuality, practical thinking creates catestrophic road
blocks for dreaming.
When you’re focused on the why nots, buts and potential
problems you might face, the future can look bleek. It’s
more likely that you’ll end up filled with doubt and not
taking any vital steps towards a more satisfied you.
(Yikes)
When it comes to dreaming, and digging into your brain’s
vast well of ideas, sometimes your gold nuggets take time
to wash clear of sediment and sparkle. This is normal, as
we’ve all spent the majority of our lives having our brains
filled with imagined road blocks and problems. A whole
muddy layer of other peoples fears for us and dreams for
us combined.
Dreaming your own dream is a lot like panning for gold.
It takes focus to spot a glimmer amongst your muddied
waters. If you let practicality stop you before you get your
pan in the water, or even after your first few silty scoops,
then the clarity or W5* of your potential may never breach
your surface.
Is there a way to dream healthily?
Practice a ‘Yes And’ approach. Invite all ideas into your
pan and then start sifting with your inner eye focused
squarely on what fills your heart and mind with joy and
meaning. Not all of the ideas percolating within you will
blend well with your dreams. That’s perfectly OK. Shift
your focus and energy to the dreaming that feeds you.
Yes, and pan on.
Nothing powers down a good dream like the burden of
wasted focus and negative thought. So spend your time
focused on what feels right. With practice, negative
shoulds, nots and buts will gently wash away leaving you
with a new clarity of purpose and a solid shimmering idea
or two to explore.
It’s time to pan for your own version of gold!

Are you feeling lucky?
In the spirit of celebrating this 13th issue of Coffee with Moe, here are
13 everyday ways to open yourself up to a kaleidescope of luck.
1. Show up. If you don’t, luck will find another contender.
2. Be curious, open to and prepared for new opportunities.
3. Relax. You don’t have to be the hardest worker. Refer to #1.
4. Trust your instincts. Listen to your gut or intuition (same thing)
It takes time to cultivate intuition, but it’s very worth it.
5. Face your fears. Be smart, be safe and remember that
fortune does favor the bold.
6. Network. It can take a village, so start smiling and meet some new
people. Who knows where it will lead.
7. Ask for what you want. You might just get it.
8. Clear away all clutter and obstacles that stand between you and
potential.
9. Think positively. Nothing squashes luck faster than negativity.
10. Set goals to reach and expectations to live by.
11. Explore all possibilities and leave no stone unturned.
12. Eat better. It’ll help you think better and function better as well.
13. Believe you deserve it. This is the hardest, but most important
factor of all.

Finally, Spring is here!
Mother Earth is shaking off the
winter in her usual flamboyant &
colourful fashion. Her shift giving us
permission to do the same.
So, the mitts are off & plans are forming.
How are your springtime blueprints looking?
I’m gearing up for mornings working in
the garden, afternoons working in the shade and
evenings spent enjoying laughter and loved ones.
There will also be some solo-camping adventures in my future,
but more about that in the Summer issue (& on Instagram).
For now, I wish that every one of your warm weather adventures
is a resounding success. If you find yourself hankering a coffee on
a patio, perhaps I will see you there.
If you don’t spot me, I’ll be there in heart.
