provided at tryouts. GET READY FOR A LIFE CHANGING
EXPERIENCE WITH THE CHEER SPORT SHARKS!
We strive to form competitive teams based on an athletes entire skill set. This includes the tumbling levels,
however there may be athletes on any given team that may tumble at a different level than the rest of their
teammates. We try to match up the athletes by level as best we can but please remember that stunting,
pyramids, dance, motions and age are huge factors as well. Some will be stronger tumblers than others, some will
contribute more with stunts than others. We choose our teams based on the positions that we need to fill (bases,
flyers, tumblers etc) in order to field the strongest teams possible.
IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
Cheerleading is a team sport that requires consistent attendance to be
successful. During the competitive season (September to April), practices are
mandatory. Our attendance policy is as follows: We expect that all efforts
are made to attend team practices and that families take their commitment
seriously. If your athlete is absent from practice, it negatively impacts the
team, and may effect their role in the routine. The 4 practices leading up to
a competition are known as ‘Black Out Practices’ and absolutely can not be
missed. Any athletes that miss, do so with the understanding that the
coaches may make modifications to the routine to better prepare the team for success
or in a worse case scenario, the athlete may not be able to compete at the upcoming
event. Competitions are mandatory.
Tumbling at Sharks
Tumbling is an important part of competitive cheerleading. The term tumbling is used to describe gymnastic elements such as
cartwheels and back handsprings. Our tumbling multi passes are designed for athletes who are serious about advancing in the
sport. If your athlete loves tumbling and cheerleading – they should be training their skills with our coaches who know the sport
of cheerleading inside and out. Local gymnastics clubs do not offer the same level of expertise in cheerleading specific tumbling.
Athletes training with a tumbling multi pass at Sharks advance their skills much quicker.
For families wishing to purchase a yearly tumbling multi pass, the schedule will be available as of Monday May 27th to view
only. It is highly recommended to book all your lessons on Saturday June 1st as of 9:00am through Amilia. There are many
benefits to being a multi pass holder, including a savings of 10-15%, a consistent schedule with a level appropriate coach and a
progress report half way throughout the season. A semi-private is a 45 minute lesson with a maximum two athletes per coach.
If only one athlete is registered or attends, it then becomes a 30 minute private lesson.
How to purchase a tumbling multi pass:
View tumbling
KEYS TO A SUCCESSFUL SEASON
a. We value hard working, positive athletes who understand that the TEAM comes before the individual.
b. Coaches reserve the right to modify routines as needed, and athletes will be expected to support decisions that are deemed as
best for the team.
c. We will only allow skills that have been mastered with proper technique to be competed. This is at the coaches discretion.
