Kite season is here.
Big kites, small kites, and
even smaller kites line the sky.
Zoom goes the bamboo kite.
Zee goes the flexi kite.
Everyone is happy.
But Keara is not happy.
This year Keara has no
money to buy a kite.
“I am still
going to fly a kite”
says Keara.
“I will make one.”
FIRST
Keara tries to use a plastic bag.
But it flys away.
“Wait,
come back!”
yells Keara.
THEN
Keara tries to use a tablecloth
But it is too heavy.
“Oh no”,
says Keara.
NEXT
Keara tries a
cardboard box.
“Not again”,
says Keara.
Keara is sad.
She sits under
the cocoa tree.
But then
an idea pops
into Keara’s
head.
She climbs up the cocoa tree.
She picks one leaf,
two leaves,
three leaves.
Then Keara hurries home.
Now she
waits for
wind.
A little breeze comes.
A bigger breeze...
And an even bigger breeze!
And Keara’s kite flies into the sky.
Keara’s heart flies too.
Just like her pretty cocoa rigi kite.
