Cargo Officer Turhan Ozen has been
voted to serve in the International Air
C a r g o A s s o c i a t i o n ( T I A C A )
Committee, the voice of the industry
EXECUTIVE MOMENTS
Turkish Cargo CCO elected to TIACA Committee
Turhan Ozen
aiming to enhance its global standards.
With vast knowledge about Balkan countries, the Middle East and Africa, as
well as the surrounding regions of Turkey, Ozen has been leading Turkish Cargo,
the fastest growing global air cargo brand since 2016.
Turkish Cargo is envisioned to handle 4 million tons of cargo annually at its
new mega cargo facility with state-of-the-art technology at Istanbul Airport.
“Effective leadership is required to handle the customers' constantly
diversifying demands accurately across the air cargo industry. I truly believe that
my new membership duty of the TIACA committee will reinforce this leadership,
and provide a positive contribution to development of the international air
cargo industry,” said Ozen.
Sebastiaan Scholte, Chairman of TIACA and CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics, said:
“Following opening of the stunning Istanbul Airport, Turkey has become a mega
hub for air transportation between Europe and Asia. All steps taken and
experiences gone through by Mr. Ozen for completion of this giant project will
be invaluable for TIACA committee and its members."
International Air Cargo Association
(TIACA) has named one of its Board of
Directors from the GSSA industry, ECS
Group Chairman Bertrand Schmoll,
strengthening further all stakeholders in
the air freight industry in the global trade
body.
The decision to appoint a representative
of a GSSA to the board for the first time
demonstrates the sector's dynamism and
its significant contribution to the
development of the industry.
“I think that since we are representing the whole air cargo supply chain
it is great to have such a high-profile GSA on board,” said Sebastiaan
Scholte, TIACA Chairman.
Schmoll who has been the driving force in the development and
modernization of ECS thanked TIACA for the trust given him.
“The air freight industry is a real microcosm, with its own rules and
customs and its wide range of stakeholders. An organization such as
TIACA is the glue that holds us all together and allows us to move
forwards together despite our sometimes-divergent interests,” said
Schmoll.
“Thanks to the remarkable work undertaken by TIACA, led by
Sebastiaan Scholte, Steven Polmans and Vladimir Zubkov, our practices
are being modernized and air freight is becoming more appealing. As
such, it's a real honour for me to have been appointed to the TIACA
Board of Directors, with whom I share the desire to bring efficiency,
modernization and unity to the industry,” he added.
With more than 30 GSSA acquisitions to his name and a carefully
crafted expansion strategy, Schmoll has made a huge contribution to
positioning ECS Group as a global market leader – as well as to the
development of the GSSA sector and its activities.
