Fairmont Area Let's Go Fishing (507) 238-2413 The Fairmont Area Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing is preparing for the 12th season of taking our Fairmont area Senior Citizens, Veterans and the Disabled out fishing and boating free of charge. This includes all of Martin County and beyond. Our 2019 season begins on Monday June 3rd and will continue throughout the summer with outings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, fishing from 9:30am to 11:30am and boating from 12:00 to about 1:30pm. The Fairmont Chapter volunteers are looking forward to another awesome summer of fishing and boating with area Senior citizens, Veterans and the Disabled. Through my husband being in the Marine Corps we were in Yuma Arizona and Oak Harbor Washington where I worked at golf courses there. When I saw the job opening here at Rose Lake, I knew this would be a way to be able to plan functions and be able to work in all areas here. Since starting in February, I have changed the hours of the kitchen and expanded the menu, which will be further expanded soon. Am also adding feature nights here as well. My long-term goal is to bring back things from years ago and incorporate them into different events here. As a kid, I remember places in Fairmont and what things made them known for. That is what I would like to do is make old things new again. I am happy to say that I have a friend and past co-worker that is my kitchen manager and Chef, Katie Manwarren, and she and I think a lot alike in getting the kitchen up and going strong, planning events and feature nights.
