CRIMINOLOGY<br />

This course aims to give a firm<br />

foundation to process a crime<br />

scene. The purpose is to develop<br />

competences in the independent<br />

management of activities on the<br />

crime scene, especially related to<br />

the correct methodology of<br />

collecting <strong>and</strong> analysing<br />

evidences. Students will learn the<br />

methodology followed by expert,<br />

from the first step into a crime<br />

scene, to the final step, the Court<br />

of Law.<br />

Criminology is the application of<br />

Psychology to the judicial system,<br />

both civil <strong>and</strong> criminal. It is a<br />

social science study of the man<br />

involved in a trial, as indicted,<br />

witness or victim. Students learn<br />

the basic foundation of<br />

psychology <strong>and</strong> knowledge of the<br />

application areas including<br />

helping the criminalist when<br />

working in a team of experts<br />

ANALYSIS<br />

Forensic Engineering is the<br />

application of engineering<br />

answer questions of fact, which<br />

are usually related with road<br />

accidents, crimes, fires <strong>and</strong><br />

explosions, <strong>and</strong> various types of<br />

failures. This course aims to<br />

provide the basics of forensic<br />

engineering to analyse <strong>and</strong><br />

underst<strong>and</strong> the causes of things.<br />

A forensic engineer operates both<br />

in the judiciary field <strong>and</strong> as expert<br />

techniques used in the<br />

investigative field for<br />

investigations that typically start<br />

from the crime scene <strong>and</strong> then it<br />

evolves, leading to the<br />

identification of the (alleged)<br />

culprit or culprits. A substantial<br />

part of intelligence techniques<br />

applied to the forensic field will<br />

be covered, focusing on their<br />

investigative relevance. Finally,<br />

the investigative activity will be<br />

expressed also from a<br />

criminological point of view.<br />
