Therapeutic fairy tale

This story didn’t happen once upon a
time-it is a nowadays fairytale. The
characters in it lived in a small lovely and
nice country called Bulgaria.
In Dobrich, a small town located in the
heart of Golden Dobrudzha - the granary
of Bulgaria lived a young beautiful girl
called Boryana. Every day she went to her
favorite kindergarten ''First of June", where
she had an all-day fun with her friends.
Leaving for the kindergarten, she never
forgot to take her favorite toy with. It was a
small, cute, plush teddy bear called Teddy.

But one unfortunate day, when Boryana was traveling to the
kindergarten she dropped her favourite toy on the ground and
lost it. That‘s how Teddy got alone on his own in the middle of
the road. Suddenly he felt so frightened and lonely. He started
roving along the streets with hope, that he would find the way
back to Boriana, but vainly.

The little bear, went so far away
from the town, that he finally
reached a forest. The night was on
its way and our little hero had to
hurry up. He walked through dense
old bushes, scared and listening
with hope to hear Boryana's voice,
but ... in vain. .

Suddenly he saw a light in a short distance. His heart flickered
and filled with hope. He quickly approached the house and
intended to knock on the door but something stopped him.
Teddy realized that it wasn’t his home, it wasn’t his precious
Boryana’s home. He sit on a tree stump and started crying.
At that moment the door of the old house opened and
somebody appeared on it. The hostess of the house was an old
turtle called Noury-very famous and well-known among the
forest inhabitants.
She was very warm-hearted, motherly and wise turtle. She
could understood her friends problems and they often visited
Noury to share their anger, sorrow, pain, and whatever.
Sometimes they were angry, worried or just sad. She used to
listen to them, giving advises, and encouraging them. That’s
why everybody was leaving out cheerful, smiling and with
shining face. But what she did with all these negative
emotions? She just gathered them in a pouch hidden inside
her shell.
That night, our hero Teddy came to this wonderful forest
inhabitant.

- Can I stay with you for the night? - asked
Teddy- I lost myself and I couldn’t find the
way back to home.
Our new friends spent the whole nigh
talking and getting to know each other.
Teddy cried and told about his beautiful
friend Boryana-how much they loved
each other, how they used to play
together, what kind of interesting things
they learned in kindergarten, and how he
got
lost.
Noury opened her special pouch and put
all bear’s pain and sadness in it. Then
dried Teddy’s tears that flew like little
rivers over his nozzle and soon they
silently fell asleep.
-Of course- said
Noury - I will make a
cup of tea for you
and you’ll be my
guest for the night.

On the next morning a beautiful
rainbow has appeared in the sky above
to watch what would happen

After leaving the forest our heroes found
themselves in the middle of a wide field with
wheat that had been swung by the wind just
as it was a golden haired girl because the
wide smile of the Sun made it look as it was
shining. There they met an ant, called Andy.
The fellows were very surprised, because she
was very angry and worried-a few days ago
some big iron “birds” sprinkled over the field
a kind of white dust and every little insect
that lived there got ill or has already dead.
The little ant was very afraid because she
thought that everyone would die from that
dust which was poisonous not only for them
but also for the wheat. That’s why they
wouldn’t have anything to eat for through the
winter.
Teddy got really angry. That beautiful field and its little inhabitants were doomed. The rainbow got frowned too and
the red color got even more saturated. But the magical turtle vanished all that anger by putting it into the pouch and
continued her trip together with Teddy.

The turtle put the bag on Teddy's shoulder and wished him luck.
Teddy crossed the Black Sea and arrived to Turkey, where he found a
group of people who were very SAD.

He approached a girl and asked her: “Where are you coming from? Where are you going?”
The girl replied: “We came from Syria, we fled the war and we don't know where to go.”

“Our houses are destroyed. We are hungry and very afraid.”
Teddy decided to stay a few days with them.

The blue cloud of sadness enveloped the camp and Teddy’s bag
weighed more and more.

The girl had a little
mouse in a box that she
brought from home and
at night she took it out
to play and made
everyone laugh.

While they laughed they forgot the sadness and the bag
seemed to weigh a little less. The child said: Here you are,
I'm giving it to you to help you.

Then they
shared the
weight between
each other and
the bag
weighed
a half.

Teddy and Berny, that's the name of the little mouse, went to look for
more people to help, but also more people to help distribute that heavy
bag.

Teddy walked and walked
and found himself in a
huge port. There were a lot
of ships and decided to sail
though the sea.

The sky was grey, covered with clouds and the
rainbow kept getting darker. Suddenly it turned blue.

A storm burst: thunders,
lightning, rain… Teddy was
shaking of FEAR.

He found a shelter inside the ship and finally they arrived in Italy. He got off the
ship and saw a castle, then knocked the door.
CREEEEEEAK!
All shaking and scared, he got inside…

He got himself in a dark room with a big window
that slammed by the wind. Teddy ran away and…

. A strange shadow started chasing him. All shaking of fear, Teddy entered
another room and… everything was dark, many bats were flying around….

Scared to death, Teddy found a
hole and looked inside it. There
were stairs leading him to a
basement. Everything was dark.
Groping around, he saw mice,
spider webs, geckos……
Thank God Teddy found the swich,
turned the lights on and found out
it was all decorations.

Teddy couldn’t release the fear inside of him and suddenly realized there was a
door. He opened it and… a dark garden with very tall trees appeared in front of
him.

Teddy got out and… noises from the leaves, the moon played with its shadow, the
owl burst into a scream and from a tree, a squirrel popped out of nowhere.

A rabbit got closer to him and said:
I want to give you
an advice: to beat
fear it takes the jam
of bravery. Listen!
Don’t be scared, I
am a friend of
Noury, come here
I’ll help you put the
fear into your bag.

In a mysterious wood
there’s a smiling bunny
who invented the recipe
Which is good for people many
with two strawberries and one
raspberry,
with four blackberries and six
raspberries
Put in a cauldron all your
emotions
And stir like this
And stir like that
Make blue bubbles
And stir like this
And stir like that
Stir and make it bubble
and after a while FEAR goes
away!
Because the jam made mine,
the healthy jam that FEAR takes away,
spread on everything,
Gives you a smile
and be sure it’s like this
and my own jam - this magical food
which gives you life,
You have it in your heart
And if sometimes it’s hidden
Just stir and stir
You’ll see it’s there, on the bottom.

Teddy took his cup of courage, put all of his fear into the
bag and began a new journey....

Teddy said goodbye to his new friends in Portugal and went on with his journey
around Europe. He had gotten an invitation from his cousin Freddy in Iceland,
which lives in a kindergarten and teaches kids how to be good friends. Teddy
took the next plane to Iceland and was both excited and a little worried about
the flight. He remembered that he could control his fear and put the worries into
his bag. He arrived safe and sound and took a bus to a town called Kópavogur.

Teddy got to stay at the kindergarten for a few days and he enjoyed playing
and learning new things with the kids. He went to the gym, where he was
supposed to run around for a few minutes. A boy named Mikael and a girl
named Lovísa showed him how and ran with him. He thought it was hard at
first, but when it was over, he was glad he did it. It made him feel proud of
himself. Then he got the courage to show the kids some yoga-stretches, that felt
very good after the run.

Teddy got on the airplane and soared through
the sky to Northern Ireland. He had learnt all
about feeling happy, angry, sad, embarrassed
and scared. The children in Ballysillan Primary
school decided to teach him about jealousy.

Children came into the role of little reporters
and asked the others:
“Why are you jealous?”

Teddy agreed that he also felt
jealous when his friend played with
someone else. He remembered
when his friend Bill the Bear had
made him feel left out. Teddy felt
very jealous of the brand new
coloring set the children had. Our
little hero told children about
times when he felt jealous and they
drew pictures of him.

Children helped Teddy understand that it is ok to be
jealous sometimes.
“We can help by sharing our toys and making sure we
play with everyone.”

Teddy packed his suitcase
and got back on a plane.
He was so excited for his next trip to
Cyprus where he would learn more
about the much talked feeling of “Love”.

On his way from Northern Ireland, Teddy
was offered a free upgrade. So, he stayed in
a fancy hotel, and was offered food and
snacks all day. However, he had no one to
share it with. He felt lonely.

Everything changed the next day when he visited Agia Marina Elementary
School!

The children gave him the
warmest welcome!
He felt happy.
He felt LOVED.

But then one of his friends fell down
and hurt his knee.
Teddy accompanied him to the
nurse’s room and comforted him.

It was in that moment that Teddy
realized that what is important in
life is not just to receive love, but also
to offer it.

When his friend felt better, the time came for Teddy to leave the Cypriot
school and start the journey to his next destination…

On his way to Poland, Teddy felt full. Full from the love he had received,
and full because he offered love. Isn’t that the whole point of life?

Poland welcomed Teddy with colder
weather. In Kindergarten #32 in Konin
he met many new friends. He had allday
plays and they were even riding a
horse.

He found there his own family and they all lived together. The bear family
lived in a beatiful house in the forest.

Usually, Teddy was first out of the bed, but
today mummy Bear had to wake him up. The
Little Bear didn’t feel well - he looked very
tired.
I think you are
sick, Little
Bear!! I am
going to call the
doctor
immediately!!!
Hello sweetheart! Did you sleep
well? I have prepared breakfast
for you!
Oh no,
mummy, I
am not
hungry!!!
Oh no, not the
doctor!!!!

The doctor came immediately.
Doctor: Hello, how are you, Little Bear?
Teddy: I feel weak and tired…
Doctor: Don’t worry, Little Bear. I have got
some medicine for you.
Teddy: I don’t want to take any medicine, they
are disgusting!!!!
Mummy: Try just a little bit, please!
Teddy: No, no, no!!I Help!

Teddy: I need my friends to be with me right now, I miss them so much… I could
always rely on them.
I will send a message to my friends: I NEED YOU, PLEASE COME!!!

here!!!! It’s
nice to see
you again!!!

First, there is friendship with
close people and then, with the
whole world. To have friends
all over the world, it’s the most
valuable thing. Because where
friedship is, there happiness
comes.
I think nothing is more
important than friendship….
