intention of promoting confidence, overcoming adversity, and getting inspired by challenges through booths and keynote speakers.

respond to shots fired call

Wainwright RCMP responded to a
report of shots fired in the area of 10
Street and 15 Avenue in Wainwright,
Alta. on May 13, 2019, at approximately
7:50 p.m.
It was reported two males were seen
leaving the area on foot shortly after
the shots were fired.
Police were able to locate the males a
short time later who turned out to be
victims of the shooting incident.
No one was injured.
A vehicle was seized in regards to
this incident.
Two suspects believed to be involved
with this incident fled the area in a
black car.
The Wainwright RCMP do not
believe this was a random incident.
Wainwright RCMP is asking the
public’s assistance for any information
in relation to this incident.

Copper wire, batteries theft
The Canadian Natural Resources
Gas plant on Highway 862 just north of
Finnegan Ferry was broken into sometime
in the late afternoon of May 15,
2019 to the early morning of May 16,
2019.
The suspect(s) stole copper wire and
eight deep cycle gel cell batteries.
The lock on the front security fence
was cut off.
The batteries are 12 inches wide and
six inches tall.
Some of the batteries are black and
some are grey in colour.
Thieves that steal copper wire and
batteries will frequently target remote
rural locations late at night.
The locations are also a significant
distance away from the local police.
The thieves will check out potential
target sites during the day before
coming back late at night.
Please report any suspicious activity
to your local police with a description
of suspect vehicle(s) and suspect(s).
