Wainwright RCMP<br />
respond to shots fired call<br />
Submitted<br />
Wainwright RCMP responded to a<br />
report of shots fired in the area of 10<br />
Street and 15 Avenue in Wainwright,<br />
Alta. on May 13, <strong>2019</strong>, at approximately<br />
7:50 p.m.<br />
It was reported two males were seen<br />
leaving the area on foot shortly after<br />
the shots were fired.<br />
Police were able to locate the males a<br />
short time later who turned out to be<br />
victims of the shooting incident.<br />
No one was injured.<br />
A vehicle was seized in regards to<br />
this incident.<br />
Two suspects believed to be involved<br />
with this incident fled the area in a<br />
black car.<br />
The Wainwright RCMP do not<br />
believe this was a random incident.<br />
Wainwright RCMP is asking the<br />
public’s assistance for any information<br />
in relation to this incident.<br />

Copper wire, batteries theft<br />
The Canadian Natural Resources<br />
Gas plant on Highway 862 just north of<br />
Finnegan Ferry was broken into sometime<br />
in the late afternoon of May 15,<br />
<strong>2019</strong> to the early morning of May 16,<br />
<strong>2019</strong>.<br />
The suspect(s) stole copper wire and<br />
eight deep cycle gel cell batteries.<br />
The lock on the front security fence<br />
was cut off.<br />
The batteries are 12 inches wide and<br />
six inches tall.<br />
Some of the batteries are black and<br />
some are grey in colour.<br />
Thieves that steal copper wire and<br />
batteries will frequently target remote<br />
rural locations late at night.<br />
The locations are also a significant<br />
distance away from the local police.<br />
The thieves will check out potential<br />
target sites during the day before<br />
coming back late at night.<br />
Please report any suspicious activity<br />
to your local police with a description<br />
of suspect vehicle(s) and suspect(s).<br />
