New Art Gallery & Wine Bar

ince last November downtown Melbourne has a new
venue - The Living Room. It’s not your regular restaurant
or club even though it serves a variety of nice wines, craft
beer and other alcoholic drinks along with hors d’oeuvres
and tasty treats. “This is an art gallery first,” explains owner
Robert Busse (photos left) who is an artist himself. “Secondly,
it’s a wine lounge that features entertainment.” Indeed,
every Tuesday is “Artists Chill Night” when you can see
artists at work. Robert is proud of who has been visiting his
art gallery during the past few months: Kyle Heinley, Jeff
Filipski, Hal Schwarze, Jason Dean, Chris Maslow, Margaret
Culver, Jennifer Bonset, Matt Barker, Peter Speach,
Tim Schubert, and just recently world-renowned Fritz Van
Eeden were painting live, along with Robert, of course.
For the rest of us, The Living Room is a most cultural
and comfortable environment to enjoy a night out by sipping
on wine, nibbling on food and listening to entertainment.
It’s a hip place, and according to visionary Robert it is
a work in progress. Just recently he added a light-show via
projectors to the outside of the building, and it is another little
something that sets this place apart from other establishments.
For the near future Robert plans a “Speakeasy Club”
that provides members with certain discounts and benefits.
He wasn’t ready to disclose more details to Brevard Live
Magazine but said that people who are interested in joining
should call or talk to him about it - speak easy!
The entertainment is as eclectic as the entire venue. You
see performances by Jazz Cats, Harbor City Trio, Josh Miller
Blues, Chuck Van Riper, Jeff Stanton, Sarah Dent and
more. The Living Room is open Tuesday through Saturday
starting at 4 pm, and located at 2018 Melbourne Court. Call
