An Individual and Exceptional Learning Journey Welcome to the “Addington Family” Welcome Addington School is a Wokingham Borough special school in Woodley, near Reading, catering for children and young people with EHCPs whose primary need is a learning difficulty. Many of our learners have Autism, Down Syndrome or other genetic conditions and our expertise, environment, facilities and curricula are designed to provide a personalised education to each and every one of them. Our school provides education from 3 years up to 19 years with separate departments for Early Years (3-8 years), Middle School (8-14 years) and Upper School (14-19 years). Each department prepares our young people for the next stage of their education, as well as preparing them for life after school. Our Aim Our aim is for each learner to reach their full potential, lead a happy and fulfilled life and be accepted by, and contribute to, their local community. We build confidence, self-esteem and communication skills, in order for our young people to have the best opportunities in life when they leave us. We do this by personalising the educational journey, working with families, integrating therapy into educational programmes and most importantly, celebrating every small step of achievement and progress.
