Born in Kent in the UK in 1985, <strong>Oliver</strong> <strong>Brett</strong> was educ<strong>at</strong>ed as a music and<br />

academic scholar <strong>at</strong> Tonbridge School and then as organ scholar of King’s<br />

College, Cambridge from where he gradu<strong>at</strong>ed in 2007 with a degree in music.<br />

Since then, he has held positions <strong>at</strong> Westminster C<strong>at</strong>hedral, Durham<br />

C<strong>at</strong>hedral and St Mary’s C<strong>at</strong>hedral, Sydney. He is currently studying for a<br />

doctor<strong>at</strong>e in organ performance with David Higgs and a masters in<br />

harpsichord performance with William Porter <strong>at</strong> the Eastman School of Music<br />

in Rochester NY. He also serves as Director of Music <strong>at</strong> St Anne’s RC Church<br />

and plays the organ for Christ Church’s Schola Cantorum in Rochester. In<br />

October 2017, <strong>Oliver</strong> was awarded second prize and the Royal Canadian<br />

College of <strong>Organ</strong>ists’ Prize <strong>at</strong> the Canadian Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Organ</strong> Competition.<br />

Recent engagements over the last year have included concerts in Sydney,<br />

Montreal, Los Angeles, Florida, Austin, Minneapolis, Atlanta and San<br />

Francisco.<br />

Plans for the next year include concerts in Austin, San Francisco, Indiana,<br />

Chicago, Pittsburgh and New York. He will also be competing in the Schnitger<br />

Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Organ</strong> Competition in the Netherlands and the Mikael<br />

Tariverdiev Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Organ</strong> Competition in Russia. As a harpsichordist he<br />

will be performing the Goldberg Vari<strong>at</strong>ions as part of this year’s Rochester<br />

Early Music Festival as well as in Berkeley, CA. This Summer he will also be<br />

performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Bach’s Double Violin <strong>Concert</strong>o with<br />

renowned Czech violinist Ivan Zen<strong>at</strong>y <strong>at</strong> the Keuka Lake Music Festival in<br />

upst<strong>at</strong>e NY.<br />

Outside of music, <strong>Oliver</strong> is a passion<strong>at</strong>e runner, having completed several<br />

mar<strong>at</strong>hons. He is currently training for his first 50 mile race in October.<br />
