Where in the world can
you walk on the Moon?
This summer bring the whole
family to walk on the moon free of
charge inside the medieval Lichfield
Cathedral.
From 20th July - 25th September
the floor of the Cathedral will
become a moonscape for all ages.
This moon floor art installation,
called ‘One Small Step’, by sculptor
Peter Walker will give people a
unique opportunity to stand on
the moon, which is an Image from
NASA covering the 36metres of the
Cathedral.
There are also FREE family activities
happening daily throughout the
summer holidays (Mon-Sat) at 13:30
– 15:30 and for two special days (3rd
and 12th August) there will be an
explorer dome which gives you a
chance to gaze at the night sky (free
ticketed event).
During August witness The Great
Exhibition 2019: ‘Space, God, the
Universe and Everything.’ This
spectacular sound and light show
is inspired by the anniversary of the
first moon landing and promises to
be out of this world. (ticketed event)
Also, in August the Film Festival is
back! Watch family friendly movies
on the moon including Frozen, Back
to the Future, ET, The Lego Movie
and more. (ticketed event)
