IIDA YEARBOOK 2019

The IIDA New England Chapter Yearbook is an annual publication, issued in conjunction with the Chapter's Annual Meeting & Volunteer Celebration each June. A concept that originated in early 2015, the goal of the IIDA NE Yearbook remains the same: to recognize the exceptional individuals, past and present, who have shaped our Chapter.

How does your committee plan to grow
in the upcoming year?
More opportunities for our members to
give back including Chapter Sponsor
Exclusive events and additional
fundraisers!
What was your biggest success of this
past year?
This year, the Philanthropy Committee
hosted its first ever Spin Class
Fundraiser, raising over $2,500 for
Artward Bound, a free four-year college
access program that prepares 9-12th
grade Boston-area students interested
in art and design with the artistic,
academic, and life skills needed to
thrive in college and beyond.
How has your committee helped
to build and advance our IIDA NE
community?
By advertising and encouraging
participation, members of our
professional community come together
to serve a common cause. Our work
is incredibly rewarding as we witness
the impact our committee’s events
make from year to year, not only by
the essential support we help provide
to local organizations, but also the
relationships that have grown within
our professional community from
participation.
Event Description: The Food Project Day
Event Date: Saturday, May 5, 2018
Event Location: Lynn, MA
# of attendees at event: 15 committee members
Charity Supported: The Food Project
Event Highlight: We had the opportunity to work with the Food Project’s Youth
Program (AKA the Dirt Crew) who led us in the morning’s tasks and made sure to keep
ours hands off our phones and in the DIRT!
A beautiful morning was spent at the Ingalis School Farm. Volunteers help with tasks
such as preparing beds, planting, weeding, harvesting, washing vegetables, and
cleaning up the land. The Food Project relies on thousands of volunteers to help
achieve their goal of creating a more just and sustainable food system and providing
equitable access to fresh, healthy and affordable food.
