Mission/Goals:
The Design Awards event was created in 2007 to celebrate teamwork and showcase interior
design projects throughout New England. Each year our mission is to expand the program
to include more submissions, as well as promoting excellence within the design work itself.
We aim to deliver a professional, high-class event focusing on the impact of design within our
community.
How does your committee plan to grow in the upcoming year?:
We plan to continue to grow the number of firms and further promote the diversity of the
work occurring in the New England area. This means we will dive deeper into our resources
in order to grow the network of submissions from new firms. We will also continue to improve
the submission process in order to create the best experience for those entering their
projects.
What was your biggest success of this past year?:
It has been very rewarding to receive compliments like, “This was the best design awards
yet!”. We continue to build upon the amazing foundation created by our predecessors, and
recognize that the continued success is due to the incredible hard work of each individual
on the committee. We are always blown away by the power of the collaboration by this
committee!
How has your committee helped to build and advance our IIDA NE community?:
The Design Awards program provides all design firms in the New England the opportunity
to be in the spotlight. This year we saw many new firms entering projects. This expanded
inclusion not only honors the firms and their work, but it also sheds light on how wide spread
the New England design community is and the impact they have on this industry.
