What do Foster Carers Do?
Probably, “what don’t we do”would be nearer the
mark! Fostering entails doing what all parents do,
but for other peoples children, caring for them on a
daily basis attending to their everyday needs, just
as we would parent a child of our own. Like
parenting, it can feel as if you’re learning to juggle,
but once you’ve done it, it becomes so much easier.
When I tell people what I do they often commend
me, saying it’s a worthy thing to do, as if it’s
something they would never be able to do. As if I’m
someone special. I’m not! I always feel saddened by
this and often think, “It’s something you could do
too!” Fostering Services all over the UK are
desperately in need of people to Foster children.
Children all over the UK are in need of someone to
love and care for them at a difficult time in their
lives.
