died Saturday,<br />

July 6,<br />

2019. Gordon<br />

was<br />

Lackie<br />

deeply loved by many<br />

children, grandchildren,<br />

great-grandchildren, sisters<br />

and other family.<br />

Born June 20, 1926, in<br />

Lake Forest, Illinois, he<br />

was the son of Melville<br />

C. and Katherine Lackie,<br />

and the brother of Anne<br />

Andersen and Joan Lackie<br />

(both surviving). He<br />

is the beloved father of<br />

Mel, Scott (Lura), Jeff<br />

(Ann), Robert (Lucy)<br />

and Lori Lackie Lemme,<br />

their mother being Patricia<br />

Giertsen Bruce, and<br />

the beloved stepfather of<br />

John(Jill) Burchmore and<br />

Anne Burchmore Mies<br />

(Jeff), their mother being<br />

Lynn Burchmore Lackie<br />

(now deceased).<br />

He was most recently<br />

married to Marilyn Monroe<br />

Lackie, who preceded<br />

him in death in 2011. He<br />

is the grandfather to Elizabeth<br />

(Christian) Iantoni,<br />

Timothy (Bridget), Christopher,<br />

Evan, Kathryn,<br />

David Lackie and Jessica<br />

(Lucas) Weis. His greatgrandchildren<br />

are Anna,<br />

Luca, Jane and George.<br />

Gordon attended Lake<br />

Forest High School, playing<br />

both football and<br />

track. He graduated from<br />

<strong>LF</strong>HS in 1944 and enlisted<br />

in the United States<br />

Navy that summer. He<br />

was discharged in 1946,<br />

serving stateside. He then<br />

attended Carleton College<br />

and graduated from Lake<br />

Forest College in 1949.<br />

Gordon was a member of<br />

the Community Church of<br />

Lake Forest & Lake Bluff,<br />

and an active member of<br />

the Lake Bluff chapter of<br />

Kiwanis for decades.<br />

He is fondly remembered<br />

by many for flipping<br />

his signature pancakes<br />

each Fourth of July<br />

in Lake Bluff at the annual<br />

Kiwanis breakfast.<br />

Gordon worked in real<br />

estate all of his adult life,<br />

most recently at Griffith,<br />

Grant and Lackie, retiring<br />

from there as Chairman<br />

in 2000. He joined<br />

the firm when it was<br />

known as John Griffith<br />

Realty, which had been<br />

established in 1903 by<br />

his uncle, John Griffith.<br />

Gordon was forever appreciative<br />

of his family<br />

and friends, and let them<br />

know it whenever he got<br />

together with them. He<br />

has left a rich legacy, and<br />

his family deeply miss<br />

him.<br />

A memorial service<br />

will be held Wednesday,<br />

July 24th at 11 a.m., at the<br />

Lily Reid Holt Memorial<br />

Chapel at 555 N. Sheridan<br />

Road, Lake Forest, the<br />

Rev. Dr. Thomas Dickelman<br />

officiating. A preservice<br />

reception will be<br />

held at 9:30 AM, next to<br />

the Chapel at Reid Hall,<br />

on the campus of Lake<br />

Forest College. In lieu of<br />

flowers, donations are encouraged<br />

to Community<br />

Lake Bluff.<br />

Faulks, of Lake Forest,<br />

died June 30, at Journey-<br />

Care CareCenter in Glenview.<br />

Faulks was born on<br />

Dec. 27, 1953, at Lake<br />

Forest Hospital. She attended<br />

Sheridan Elementary<br />

School, Gorton<br />

School, Deer Path Junior<br />
