THE
The Niche Ice
Cream in Folsom
scoops up a variety
of ice creams but
also offers The
Ponchik—a fresh
glazed donut stuffed
with ice cream
and toppings. No
doubt, the Zentastic
Ponchik will put you
in the right mindset—
you’re eating ice
cream in a donut after
all. Sweet green tea
ice cream is sealed
in a warm donut
alongside almonds
or coconut flakes.
Sweet Dozen Cones in
Folsom takes donuts
to the next level, by
making them into
a cone and filling it
with soft serve ice
cream. Their Apple
Pie a la Mode Sweet
Cone is loaded with
ice cream, apple pie
filling, caramel, and
granola making it the
apple of my eye. Their
Who doesn’t scream for ice cream? We definitely do. So, it comes as
no surprise that we have our very own favorites around town. From
good ol’ fashioned delights to crazy new inventions, we’ll take our ice
cream any which way. Read on to get the scoop.
Hangman’s Tree Ice
Cream Saloon is not only
packed with the history
of gold-rush town but
with ice cream treats,
too. A favorite offering
of theirs that’s perfect
for lovers of classic ice
cream is the Classic
Banana Split. Dig into
your choice of ice cream
scooped onto a perfectly
split banana and
garnished with toppings
of your choice but you
can’t go wrong with nuts
and hot fudge. Oh, and
don’t forget the whipped
cream and cherry on
top! hangmanstree.com
If you’re looking to take your
ice cream game to the next
level, hurry to The Parlor Ice
Cream Puffs in Roseville.
They offer a funky variety of
ice creams (and can even
seal it in a donut!), creamy
milkshakes, and colorful
toppings. If the flavorful
menu seems overwhelming
may we suggest the
Churros Works? Start with
your choice of milkshake
(try Wendell: cinnamonsugar-swirled
vanilla) then
dunk two hot churros in,
layer a swirl of whipped
cream and add any and
all toppings (toffee bits,
pretzels, and caramel,
maybe?) The choices are
endless…and delicious.
Okay, so maybe not
technically ice cream, but
the gelato at Miabella
Gelato in Roseville is
something to write home
about. An 80/20 split of milk
and cream, gelato is ice
cream’s thick and creamy
cousin. Miabella’s flavors
abound–mint chip, mixed
berry, hazelnut, seasonal
favorites and more—but
a favorite is Pistachio
Gelato. Creamy, exotic,
and topped with a taste
of waffle cone (or served
inside one), this treat is the
perfect way to cool down
when summer temps rise.
