LANE Cove Women’s Bowling Club president Sarah Hobson is celebrating<br />
a Grand Slam of all ladies major titles. <strong>The</strong> gifted Hobson recently<br />
teamed with Dianna Erskine to clinch the Ladies Pairs with a<br />
21-9 victory over Maureen Terrey and Jenny Moran in an eagerly fought<br />
final. It capped an amazing year for Sarah (pictured second from right)<br />
and Dianna, who picked up her eleventh ladies title.<br />

in McCann and Cadman from <strong>The</strong><br />
Hills to win the title and now advance to<br />
play in the State play offs at Tamworth<br />
on September 9-10.<br />

Triples at Pennant Hills where they<br />
were defeated by a strong team from<br />
Northmead WBC.<br />

RYDE’S best young athletes have combined over the winter to bring home three<br />
State medals - two silver and a bronze - in team’s cross country events.<br />

up to again take silver in the<br />
Athletics NSW Street Relay<br />
Runs where they competed<br />
in the Under 16s 4 x 2km<br />
event.<br />
In between all four girls had<br />
represented their school Loreto<br />
Normanhurst in the gruelling<br />
Balmoral Burn Schools<br />
event, the Head of the Hill<br />
where Arcus and Price<br />
teamed up with Ryde teammate<br />
Sophie Kavanagh and<br />
Charlotte Curran to collect<br />
another silver medal.<br />
Ryde’s other road warriors<br />
in the Street Relays were Ella<br />
and Chloe McGregor and<br />
Jacqueline and Zara Pawsey<br />
who teamed up to collect<br />
their first Athletics NSW medal<br />
when they won bronze in<br />
the Under 12s 4 x 2km event.<br />
An impressive result given<br />
their youngest team members<br />
Jacqueline and Chloe<br />
are aged just 8 and 9 years<br />
old respectively.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Athletics season commences<br />
shortly and registration<br />
for Ryde Little Athletics<br />
opens on Thursday August 1.
