the case of new foreign<br />
connections from just one<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet station, India’s<br />
financial capital — the airline<br />
has scaled up its international<br />
connectivity from Mumbai,<br />
with new flights from the<br />
city. There are now direct<br />
non-stop flights from<br />
Mumbai to Hong Kong,<br />
Jeddah, Dubai, Dhaka,<br />
Riyadh and Bangkok.<br />
Operations on the<br />
Mumbai-Bangkok-Mumbai<br />
sector started from May 17,<br />
2019. Additionally, operations<br />
on the Mumbai-Jeddah-<br />
Mumbai route came into<br />
effect from July 5, 2019. Flights on the<br />
Mumbai-Dhaka-Mumbai sector were<br />
flagged off from July 31, 2019. With the<br />
introduction of these new flights,<br />
passengers from these foreign cities are<br />
able to easily travel to a host of other cities<br />
both on <strong>Spice</strong>Jet’s domestic as well as<br />
international network via multiple<br />
onward connections from Mumbai.<br />
Passengers travelling from non-metro<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet stations like Mangalore, Gwalior,<br />
Belgaum, Dibrugarh, Vijayawada and<br />
Mr Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet and Mr Adnan Kazim,<br />
Divisional Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Revenue Optimisation &<br />
Aeropolitical Affairs, Emirates, at the signing of the MoU for codeshare agreement<br />
Guwahati, among others, will now be able<br />
to easily travel to a host of other cities on<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet’s international network via<br />
multiple onward connections from key<br />
metros. Apart from adding new<br />
destinations, the overall frequency of<br />
flights has also been increased. In the<br />
process, the airline has been able to notch<br />
up some remarkable achievements.<br />
• <strong>Spice</strong>Jet is the only Indian carrier<br />
to connect Mumbai with Hong Kong via<br />
daily non-stop flights: <strong>Spice</strong>Jet has<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet operates daily nonstop<br />
flights to Hong Kong<br />
deployed its 168-seater<br />
Boeing 737-800 aircraft on<br />
the Mumbai-Hong Kong<br />
sector. The flight is timed<br />
perfectly for business and<br />
leisure travellers alike<br />
with a late night departure<br />
from Mumbai (1.05 am)<br />
and a morning arrival<br />
(9.40 am) in Hong Kong<br />
thus maximising<br />
passenger comfort and<br />
providing more choice and<br />
flexibility.<br />
• <strong>Spice</strong>Jet is the first<br />
Indian LCC to connect<br />
Mumbai with Riyadh and<br />
Dhaka and Delhi with<br />
Dhaka and Jeddah: <strong>Spice</strong>Jet will service<br />
Mumbai-Riyadh-Mumbai, Mumbai-<br />
Dhaka-Mumbai, Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi and<br />
Delhi-Jeddah-Delhi with daily non-stop<br />
flights. With the new flights, passengers<br />
from Riyadh, Dhaka and Jeddah will be<br />
able to easily travel to a host of other<br />
cities both on <strong>Spice</strong>Jet’s domestic as well<br />
as international network via multiple<br />
onward connections from Mumbai and<br />
Delhi.<br />
• The Guwahati-Dhaka-Guwahati<br />
sector has been added under the<br />
International Air Connectivity Scheme<br />
(IACS): <strong>Spice</strong>Jet, created history when it<br />
recently launched its first flight under the<br />
IACS. This has made international air<br />
travel much more affordable and<br />
convenient for more and more Indians.<br />
The slew of new international flights<br />
announced recently by <strong>Spice</strong>Jet have been<br />
welcomed by passengers as well as the<br />
industry. Ajay Singh, Chairman and<br />
Managing Director, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet, summed it<br />
up best when he said: “<strong>Spice</strong>Jet is the only<br />
Indian budget carrier operating on a<br />
majority of the routes that we have<br />
announced, thus providing leisure and<br />
business travellers with more options to<br />
