WEEE Returns<br />
In July 2007 the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 came into force affecting how producers<br />
of electrical and electronic equipment deal with end of life equipment placed in the UK market place.<br />
BeaconMedæs is a producer of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). It is our obligation to finance the costs of<br />
the collection, treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of any end of life equipment falling within<br />
the guidelines below.<br />
1. If the equipment has a sticker displaying a crossed out wheelie bin with adjacent bar then the product was<br />
placed on the market after 13th August 2005.<br />
2. The costs of financing the collection, treatment and sound disposal of any equipment placed on the market<br />
after 13th August 2005 lie with BeaconMedæs unless otherwise agreed with the distributor / end user.<br />
3. The costs of financing the collection, treatment and sound disposal of any equipment placed on the market<br />
before 13th August 2005; where BeaconMedæs is replacing for new EEE lie with BeaconMedæs.<br />
4. The costs of financing the collection, treatment and sound disposal of any equipment placed on the market<br />
before 13th August 2005; that is not being replaced with new replacement equipment, lie with the end user.<br />
5. All producers of equipment are required to join a Compliance Scheme. In doing so they will be issued with<br />
an EEE producer registration number which is to be communicated to any distributor to whom he intends to sell,<br />
sells or otherwise supplies EEE.<br />
