I'M A PARENT AND HERE'S WHY I GIVE
I believe being twenty in this day and age is very
complicated. It is a tech world that is not realistic. The
college students are constantly challenged with an
onslaught of media that holds many moments of
exclusion. The current world makes others look far
more important than they actually are. College students
have so much information that does not always make
them feel wanted and at ease.
As my daughter joined Chabad, she was welcomed into
a family that accepted her and included her. She has
dinners and activities that make her college experience
feel like she is part of a family. She looks forward to
going to the Chabad house, cooking, eating, decorating
and planning events. She is part of a big family.
Thoughts and discussions are open and honest
understanding the college students’ trials and
tribulations. Chabad at Chapman is welcoming.
I am glad she was part of a study group, so she
understands that Chabad has meaning, and it has a
basis for learning. The tranquility and camaraderie have
been enormous. I truly believe Chabad needs to
embrace as many college students as they can. It is
empowering.
I can only praise what Rabbi Eliezer and Mushky have
done with my daughter Danni Jo Martincak. She has
grown and become a better person because of this
Chabad family."

THIS IS WHY I GIVE
"Before the Rabbi and Mushky established the
Chabad House in Orange, CA, I had no participation
in Jewish life at Chapman. I lacked Jewish friends,
which made celebrating the holidays a lonesome,
unwanted affair.
Thankfully, this ended quite suddenly during the
Spring Semester of 2017. From the moment Rabbi
Eliezar and Mushky moved in, I had discovered a
Jewish home at Chapman.
Not only did I find a place to celebrate Shabbat, or a
place to observe the Passover seder, I also
developed lifelong friendships among the other
students gathered within the Gurary’s magnificently
warm home.
It seems nothing is beyond the scope of what Rabbi
and Rebbetzin Gurary would be willing to do for the
benefit of their students. For this, for the impact
Chabad has had on my Chapman experience and
beyond, and for their continued effect on Chapman’s
campus, there is no cause I find more deserving of
my support than Chabad at Chapman University."
