That's a hell of a question... What if I told you that someone has already thought about it and actually put this on practice? "And here it is, it’s called Green School. I know it doesn’t look like a school but it’s beautiful, sustainable, and we teach children that the world is not indestructible and that they can make a difference!” - John Hardy, Founder of Green School Located in Bali, Indonesia, the green school was founded by John and Cinthia Hardy. Although the idea for the school was idealized in 2006, it was in 2008 that it really opened its doors with a hundred students . Nowadays, at least twenty percent of the students in the school are Indonesian, and they don't pay anything for that, but aside the natives, the green school also atracts students from all around the world, reaching kindergarten to high school. The pedagogical approach of the school is based on the studies of the new zealander Alan Wagstaff, that proposes and integrated learning process involving four dimensions: Social-emotional, spiritual, intelectual and synesthetic . By Fábio Sanjar Dini Júnior B A M B O O M A D E Bamboo, widely found in Indonesia is the main material used in the 75 buildings of the school, including the spiral shaped main building. All of that is supported by renewable energy, including a miniature hydroelectric, solar panels and bio diesel. All the water used in the school is reused, the gardens are actually plantations, and kids can play with animals loose in the 9 hectares of area. That's a fine example of method that can lead to the creation of similar schools around the globe. The green school in Bali inflics minimum impact on the environment and that's why it was the inaugural winner of the “greenest school on earth" award from the Center of Green Schools in the US Green Building Council and had received International acclaim for its innovative approach to education.
