Another season dawns upon us and the optimism that goes with it. After what seems like a long preseason, we’re all ready to hit the ground running and hope to put points on the board early. Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to Lawrence Cooley for sponsoring today’s match. Lawrence hasn’t been well lately, having spent a large chunk of the summer in hospital. We’re delighted to say he’s on the mend and is hoping to be in attendance today. If you see him, say hello. 250 appearances himself. Jev talks about his time here which included the monumental trip to Brazil in 2015. Sadly, Jev was unable to join us in Budapest over the summer but plenty of you did. For that reason, we’ve produced a book as a memento of the occasion. You’ll be able to buy it from the club shop, or can also win some decent cash at the same time - that’s never a bad thing. Amongst the familiar faces is of course, Danny Bracken - captain fantastic who’s about to reach the 400 competitive appearances mark. Dan joined us from Tooting in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since. He’s genuinely part of the furniture round these parts. Not to say we take him for granted. Speaking of familiar faces, this programme contains an interview with another <strong>Casuals</strong> stalwart - Juevan Spencer who’s notched up over online for £8 a copy. Of course, if you haven’t got a clue what I’m on about, there’s a whole piece by Will Magee in these pages. Purchasing a book helps the club immensely. It’s not cheap to run a football club. The list of what we provide the players is nothing short of fully professional - excluding a wage. The players won’t find the level of support they recieve on and off the pitch at any other club in terms of training, analysis etc. However, this doesn’t come cheap and to continue to provide that, income is vital. We’ll be pushing our monthly draw soon so I implore you to sign up for your ‘shares’ and give James and the boys the extra boost they desire. You trying to achieve at this great, historic club. The new shirts, as modelled by Coskun, will be available to purchase shortly. It’s also been a pleasure to welcome Robin Hutchinson MBE onto our Committee which is a real boost. Robin has been instrumental in supporting local community projects and continues to provide amazing support around the local area. Enjoy the game.
