President’s News – ‘Classic Lines’ – August 2019;
Membership Renewals
These have been ‘rolling’ in for the last few months, my thanks to all those who have already renewed.
Please remember that you always have 2 months after the due date to renew before no
longer being a club member. For most members this is August 31 st .
You must however always be a ‘financial’ member if you hold a SIV registration, this is a Queensland
Transport requirement.
On-line Ticketing
Bookings for all Club Events are now available on-line. You can pay with Pay Pal or any credit
card. Receipt & tickets with exclusive bar code will be emailed directly to your registered club
email after payment.

The Financial results are in. The Event reported a profit in excess of $4000.
This is in addition to the NBCCC receiving a $4000 payment.

From the Editor
This month we have a bumper issue
Marina Schwartz has recognised a lacking of inclusion
of the Ladies of our Club in our magazine and has put
together a Special Feature for this issue of CLASSIC LINES
This is a long overdue presentation of some of the
Ladies of the Club who have been actively involved in motoring
of various sorts over many years.
The feature is included in 14 pages out of a total of
30 pages for this month. Sorry Marina, I had to cull the Story
of “Whats’s in a Name”. It will appear in the next Issue.
Hopefully Marina will be able to convince many of our other Lady Members
to reveal their stories for future issues of CLASSIC LINES
After much editing and trimming, I have managed to just scrape in within our
website limitations.
I have had to hold back on some articles and future event flyers. The FOR SALE
section features only 1 ad this month, being the only new one. All the FOR SALE items,
which should have been continued from last month, will resume next month.
I apologise to those members who have provided me with copy that I had promised
to include this month . It will be included in the next Issue.

Classic Coffee at Relish Café Noosa Springs Friday 12th July, 2019
Cool morning and arrived to find all the sunny outdoor tables already taken by
early golfers. The café had set aside an inside area, but we moved to the balcony
seating to overlook this magnificent view.
35 members and guests enjoyed the casual setting. We were introduced to new
members Peter & Virginia Hague by Dave Dunwoody after his informative talk
about the Classic Car Show now being held in the Woods Park, Hastings Street.
We were also lucky enough to hear a talk from prospective new members Colin
& Maxine Kiel from Victoria who own a classic car Collection.
Really nice coffee and members chatted away the hours at this great venue.

CLUB RUN TO THE DRIFTWOOD RESTAURANT, BLI BLI
On SUNDAY 28 July, 2019
Our run started from the Cooroy Railway
Station and the weather was perfect.
We had morning tea at the Park in
Yandina. Sittng next to the river it was a
very tranquil settng that had plenty of
parking.
Al organised a lovely run through Nambour
heights and down into Bli Bli.
We arrived at the Driftwood Restaurant and
were able to park altogether on the grass opposite
the restaurant.
With 36 lucky members attended on Sunday,
we had lunch in a separate dining room. The staff
were excellent and the food was very good and not
expensive.
Our lucky door prizewinners were Lyn Shaw, just back from her trip, and Graham Brown’s friend.
Graham brought along car parts and a few jokes
to share, which we all enjoyed.
Thank you all for supporting our social event! We
look forward to seeing you at the Maroochy Golf Club
on Friday, 9 th August at 10.30AM for morning tea.

1997 Jaguar XJ8
With regret, I find the need to sell my XJ8 that I have
cared for and loved for many years. Besides my storage
problem I don't have the time to do the little things that
keep her looking the beauty she is.
She is 3200 V8; well maintained; I've just paid for
12 months rego; 250,000 highway kilometres but major
head and timing chain refurb/service at 150,000; serviced
regularly at Andrews; running beautifully. Last
year I replaced shocks with Koni's; sad to see her go.
Price $8,000 but any reasonable offer accepted.
