Southwind High School Concert Singers<br />

Friday, April 12, <strong>2019</strong> • 1:00-1:50 PM • Tennessee Ballroom AB<br />

The Southwind High Concert Singers is an elite group of 41 students ranging from grades 10th-<br />

12th in Southeast Memphis, TN. The Concert Singers rehearse Monday through Friday for 55<br />

minutes and receive honors credit for their participation in the ensemble. Recent Accolades include<br />

Superior rankings at regional choral festivals, state choral festivals, Ole Miss choral festivals, 2017<br />

Grand Champions at the Music in the Parks Choral Competition in Atlanta, GA, and 2018 Grand<br />

Champions at the Music in the Parks Choral Competition in St. Louis, MO. The Southwind Concert<br />

Singers had the distinct pleasure of singing backup for legendary gospel artist CeCe Winans<br />

and Kierra “Keke” Sheard. The Southwind Concert Singers believe that a performance without<br />

expression is a disservice to audience members and the composer. This elite group of singers<br />

abide by one motto: “Divided by Section, United by Harmony.”<br />

Dante’ Sentrell Webb<br />

Choral Director<br />

Dante’ Sentrell Webb is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and is in his fourth<br />

year of teaching at Southwind High School. Dante’ holds a Bachelor and<br />

Master Degree in Choral Music Education from The University of Memphis.<br />

While attending the University of Memphis, Dante sung in University Singers<br />

and Chamber Choir. Dante’ also studied private voice with Dr. Pamela Gaston<br />

as a Baritone. As an active performer, Dante’ sings in the chorus as a Tenor<br />

with Opera Memphis and was named Assistant Chorus Master during the<br />

2018-<strong>2019</strong> season. Dante’s professional affiliations include: Tennessee Music Educators Association<br />

(<strong>TMEA</strong>), American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), West Tennessee Vocal Music Education<br />

Association (WTVMEA), NAfME, Tennessee Educator Association (TEA), and Omicron Delta Kappa.<br />

Dante’ has held the position of choral director at Southwind High School since 2015. Since then,<br />

Dante’ has earned a reputation for bringing unparalleled passion and excitement to his choral<br />

studio, and is dedicated to changing the lives of students through music. Dante’ is committed to<br />

instilling pride, superior work ethics, and a commitment to excellence in the lives of the students in<br />

his choral program. Currently, Dante’ is preparing to start his D.M.A in Choral Conducting Fall 2020.<br />
