VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED!
CAN YOU HELP?
Age Concern Seaford is a local self-funded
independent charity based in Seaford for over 50
years. We offer various services and support to the
elderly residents of our town.
We urgently need to recruit volunteers to help in
our charity shop at 6 Church Street.
We would like to extend our opening hours to 4pm!
Do you have some free time to give us?
Can you spare a few hours a week volunteering in
our charity shop or one of our services?
If YES then please call 01323 899434 for further
information or pop in to see us at
6 Church Street. Taster sessions are available to all
new volunteers.
Out charity shop is open Mon to Sat 10–2pm.
Our office is open Mon to Thurs 10–2pm.
Seaford Music Society
An invitation
According to the great Stephen Hawking: ‘Even a
complete theory of the universe wouldn’t remove
the need for music’ and here in Seaford, our music
society has been instrumental (forgive the pun!) in
bringing some of the very best classical music, played
by top class musicians, to our venues at St Leonard’s
and Seaford Baptist Churches. During the last concert
season we were treated to some breathtaking
performances of such beauty and skill that audiences
have almost been transported to the stars that so
inspired Professor Hawking! Each year includes a
family concert for audiences aged from one to 100!
As with all our concerts, entrance is free for children
and members, with single tickets available in advance
as below, and from Newberry Tully Estate Agents on
Seaford Church Street. In order to enable the society
to continue to engage the very best musicians, and
invest in the future by encouraging new talent, we
invite you to consider taking out membership, which
will support us in these aims.
What are the benefits?
• Entry to all six concerts in our 2019-2020 season, for
£60, a saving of £25.
• The opportunity to purchase one reduced priced
guest ticket to any of the chamber music concerts.
• Further opportunities to purchase discounted tickets
at gala concerts and other affiliated local music
societies (see website for further details).
• Have your say: stand for election as a trustee of the
Society, vote at our 2020 Annual General Meeting,
and attend the members-only special event that
precedes it.
• Priority information and booking for 2020/21 season.
It’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Look
out for our new season brochure, at the Tourist
Information Centre, and several locations in Seaford
and the surrounding area. For further information and
ticket enquiries, please contact the Treasurer on 01323
491601 or visit www.seafordmusicsociety.com. We
look forward to welcoming you at our first concert
on Sunday 20th October 2019 at 3pm, St Leonard’s
Church, featuring Mendelssohn’s joyous, youthful and
exuberant Octet for Strings.
