Know your R10 / EMC Regulation
ECE R10 is an electromagnetic compatibility standard published by the
United Nations, describing two factors that must be met for on-road signaling
devices.
o Radiated interference: to suppress the electromagnetic radiation
of the device to a certain level to insure it is interference-free to
other devices.
o Immunity to interference: to assure the device has a high
tolerance to external electromagnetic interference from other
devices.
“you dont want to have devices to interfere with each other”
Know your ECE R65 Regulation
Category: X | Directional
Category: T | 360°
Category: HT | 135°
:is a regulation standard published /
enforced by the United Nations for the on-road
use of vehicle warning lamps such as beacons,
lightbars and surface mounts, specifies the
required light value, distribution direction and
minimal specification. And this standard is divided
into two classes:
: Mainly for Amber / Blue usage on the
vehicle as a visual warning device. Amber color
warning lamp is allowed to be used by any private
or government vehicle without authorization.
: Mainly for Blue usage on emergency
vehicles such as police car / ambulances / fire
trucks. Blue color warning lamp can only be used
by authorized vehicles such as police, ambluance,
or other government authorized vehicles.
ECE R65
R65 Class I
R65 Class II
Categories
R65 is also categorized into 3 differenty categories
based on the output direction of the device.
:Equivalent to SAE J595, mainly to
measure the light value of the device at its direct
position.
:Equivalent to SAE J845, mainly to
measure the light value of the device at its 360°
surrounding value.
:135° measurement of the light value of
the device’s output.
Know your IP Waterproof Rating
Dust tight.
No ingress of dust.
Two to eight hours.
Protection against the
effects of extreme high
pressure water when
cleaning.
Dust Protected.
Limited ingress of dust
permitted.
Will not interfere with
operation
of the equipment.
Two to eight Hours.
Protection against the
effects of immersion in
water unter pressure
for long periods.
IP Rating is an international standard (International Standard IEC 60529) that is set to define
different levels of sealing effectiveness of the device against intrusion from fluid, dust or other
particles. And for our devices, it is normally classified in the following rating:
o IP54: Protected from limited dust ingress and water spray from any direction.
o IP65: Protected from total dust ingress and high-pressure water jets from any
direction.
o IP67: Protected from total dust ingress and immersion between 15 cm to 100cm in
depth.
o IP69K: Protected from total dust ingress and steam-jet cleaning.
15cm
to
100cm
Protection against the
effects of immersion in
water between 15cm
and 1m for 30 minutes.
IP: INGRESS PROTECTION
6: Solids
5: Water
Water from heavy
seas or water
projected in powerful
jets shall not enter the
enclosure in harmful
quantities.
Protected against jets
of water. Limited
ingress permitted.
Protected against
water splashed from
all directions. Limited
ingress permitted.
