St. Norbert and Our<br />
Lady of the Brook Parish,<br />
also known as the Catholic<br />
Community of Northbrook,<br />
announced the<br />
placement of a new pastor<br />
last month.<br />
The parish welcomed<br />
Rev. Chris Gustafson,<br />
along with his boxer, Blue.<br />
He replaces Rev. Bob<br />
Heinz, who completed<br />
his term of 12 years at the<br />
parish.<br />
Gustafson grew up on<br />
the southwest side of<br />
Chicago, one of seven<br />
children, who is now an<br />
uncle to 15 nieces and<br />
nephews. He is a graduate<br />
of the University of<br />
Notre Dame, Chicago-<br />
Kent College of Law and<br />
the University of St. Mary<br />
of the Lake (Mundelein<br />
Seminary).<br />
In his 24 years of priesthood,<br />
he has served at<br />
Sacred Heart Parish,<br />
Winnetka; St. Christina<br />
Parish, Mt. Greenwood;<br />
Church of St. Mary, Lake<br />
Forest; and most recently<br />
at Our Lady of Ransom<br />
Parish, Niles.<br />
On Sept. 11, Gustafson<br />
offered some words of reflection<br />
on “Our Shared<br />
Mission as Disciples of<br />
Christ.”<br />

Faul, a longtime Northbrook<br />
resident, with<br />
leading the charge on the<br />
project, saying “her hard<br />
work really brought this<br />
project to fruition.”<br />
Eventually, the peonies<br />
will be distributed<br />
to multiple organizations<br />
— including the Village<br />
of Northbrook, the Northbrook<br />
Park District and<br />
the Northbrook Public Library<br />
— to help beautify<br />
their grounds.<br />
