FUN DAY 

“Kids go where there is excitement and they 

stay where there is Love” 

The new academic session began with Fun Day 

comprising of a day packed with fun and 

innovative activities. The children had fun to their 

heart‟s fill and the school sealed it with a welcome 

gift and a balloon which the kids took home as a 

token of love. The happy faces of the students and 

the mentors alike were a treat to behold. It was a 

„Fun Day‟ with a difference.

The Goenkan mentors of the Junior 

Wing presented an endearing 

Welcome assembly with the motive 

of educating and entertaining the 

little Goenkans at the same time 

and highlighted the fact that 

happy school and happy children 

make great learners. 

LET’S KNOW OUR EARTH 

The Junior Goenkan environment 

brigade stepped forward as mascots of 

Mother Earth and raised the slogan of 

„GO GREEN‟ along with a pledge - a 

promise to value the generosity of 

Mother Earth.The children promised to 

create awareness to keep the Earth 

„Clean and Green‟. 


GLOBAL ASTRONOMY 

MONTH 

Celebrating Global Astronomy Month 

(GAM) with motto “One people, one sky”, 

Astro Kiosk was organized keeping in mind 

the progression in sphere of science learning 

and identified areas of Space, Science and 

Astronomy which we want to introduce to 

our children in each academic year of their 

primary school journey. The event was 

inaugurated by the school Principal Mrs. 

Anuradha Handa. Students and teachers 

enjoyed fun filled activities like Hydro 

Rocket Launch, Safe Solar Observation by 

solar viewer, lung capacity test, ring the 

planets and let‟s launch stomp rockets. 

EXPRESSING GRATITUDE 

Everyday becomes a good day if we have 

something new to learn. The assembly on 

the above said topic left the students feeling 

inspired for practicing gratitude in their 

lives. The learning was reflected when the 

tiny tots expressed their gratitude by 

writing thank you notes to each other. 


TEDDY’S PARTY(NURSERY) 

A day full of fun and frolic was reserved 

for the little Goenkans of Nursery and the 

new entrants to class K.G. in the Goenkan 

calendar as the „Teddy‟s Party‟ to provide a 

sense of warmth, love and security to them. 

MOTHER’S DAY 

To celebrate this day of love, the 

students presented an acronym for 

„Mother‟ and dedicated a special song 

and a dance to showcase their love for 

their mothers. It was an opportunity 

for them to honour their mothers. 


IMPORTANCE OF BOOKS 

To attract our little Goenkan geniuses to 

the divine world of reading books and to 

help them ignite their imagination, an 

assembly aptly titled „Importance of 

Books‟ was organized to encourage them 

to and make books their best friends. 

STEM WEEK 

To develop scientific temperament and succeed in this new 

information based and highly technological society students 

need to develop their capabilities in STEM. Topics such as 

internal vs. external science, Five Elements in nature and us, 

were taken up in classes and children were presented with an 

opportunity to ignite their imagination through different lenses. 


COEP 

As an ongoing annual event, the school 

organized COEP, the Centre of Excellence 

Program for the students of Junior Wing. 

The week long program aimed at providing 

unique opportunities of learning, giving an 

exposure to wide range of skills under sports, 

co-curricular and skill development with an 

element of fun. The skill development clubs 

such as Experimentation Club, Math Club 

and I wonder why Club offered a wide range 

of activities related to the everyday life 

skills. 


EXOTIC FRUITS AROUND THE WORLD, 

MANGO BEING THE KING OF FRUITS 

Mango Day started on a sweet and 

juicy note for the little Goenkans as 

they confidently shared the 

information on the importance of 

fruits in their daily diet along with 

the names and nutritional value of 

various exotic fruits available 

throughout the world. Interactive 

games like mango maze, pluck the 

mangoes and a mango photo booth 

added to the attraction and fun. The 

young Goenkans signed off the day 

with the much awaited mango treat. 

CREAMY DESSERTS & ICE-CREAM DAY 

Tingling the taste buds of the 

little Goenkans, the students 

creatively presented the 

assembly highlighting the exotic 

desserts and frozen sweet treats 

eaten all over the world, with the 

favourite being the ice cream. The 

major attraction of the day was 

the ice cream vending cart 

serving the yummy treat to the 

little Goenkans. 


INTERNATIONAL WEEK 

The International Week was 

celebrated with the emphasis 

on making the little ones 

culturally aware and tolerant 

with the theme country 

„Malaysia‟. The students were 

introduced to the culture of 

Majestic Malaysia through a 

carefully created in house 

handbook filled with facts 

and activities of Malaysia. 

MAJESTIC MALAYSIA- 

THE ANNUAL AQUATIC CAMP 

A day full of excitement, fun and cheer, The Annual Aquatic 

camp with Malaysia theme was strategically planned for the 

students of the Junior Wing. Children participated in various 

activities such as Jelly Fish Race, Obstacle race, Pull the partner, 

Luck by chance and Pass the Mug. The vibrant swimming 

costumes and summer hats added to the fun. 


JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS 

On the auspicious occasion of 

Janmashtami, a beautiful temple 

like set up and “Jhankis” were 

created where children rocked the 

cradle of „Laddoo- Gopal‟ and 

heard the stories about Krishna‟s 

childhood and youth. 

PROJECT AND STUDIO (QUINTESSENCE)- 

PRESENTATIONS (GRADE I & II) 

Project and Studio presentations by the 

students of Grade I & II gave parents an 

opportunity to get a 360 degree view of 

teaching learning in Scholastic and Coscholastic 

domain. All the presentations 

included an element of rich Indian cultural 

heritage along with the International element 

of country-Malaysia. 


RHYME AND STUDIO (QUINTESSENCE) 

PRESENTATIONS (NUR & KG) 

The students of Nursery and KG 

participated in rhyme presentation 

and a range of co-scholastic 

activities such as music, dance, art 

and theatre to give a 360 degree 

view of teaching – learning to their 

parents who were invited for the 

same. Parents were also handed 

over a token of thanks in the form 

of a sapling.

STORY TIME 

(Letter – L) - Leena is a little girl. She eats lots of lollipops. One day Leena reads a 

book on lion. She wants to see a real lion, so she goes to a jungle. Suddenly she hears the 

sound of lightening in the sky. She is scared. She runs and falls. Oh! dear little Leena 

hurts her leg. At the same time she sees a big lizard among the leaves. Poor Leena is more 

scared now. She quickly climbs a ladder which is near a lemon tree. It is dark now. She 

sees a light in the dark. The light is coming towards her. She sees that it is her father. He 

is looking for her with a lamp. Leena leaps into her mother’s arms laughing.

ART „N‟ CRAFT : Our Li‟l Goenkans used their creative minds to portray their colorful 

imagination through the following craft activities: 

Free hand Painting with brush, drawing of objects with shapes, earth day craft, 

mother‟s day card, puppet making, underwater scene, 

Theme (Malaysia) based drawing, crafts related to Malaysia, paper hangings, 

National symbols of India- peacock, lotus and tiger, folk art – Warli art with 

different mediums like crayons and water colors. 

Different techniques like drawing and coloring, painting, finger printing, stamping, 

tear and paste, cutting and pasting will be used 

DANCE : The following topics were covered: 

Introduction to rhythmic exercise (jumping, hopping, bouncing, rolling etc.). 

Free style dance on the song “Little butterfly”. 

Introduction to the theme “Mother‟s day” & a routine based on it. 

Dance routine based on the theme “Ice cream day” 

International dance form. (Malaysia ). 

Dance routine based on the theme “Ganesh Chaturthi”.

THEATRE : The following activities were taken up: 

Head to toe warming up exercises, and Facial muscle exercises. 

Stage ethics, different emotions and did some memory retention exercises through 

„COLOUR CODES‟ 

Different pitches of sounds to be used on stage through voice meter activity. 

Different sounds, poses of animals and later enacted them on stage. 

During “Integrated Subject week” an enactment on technology and different shapes 

was conducted in class. 

During India Week, children did an activity on Slogans Of Freedom fighters. 

During Studio presentation, Children showed different expressions and they 

enjoyed doing story enactment on “Hunter and the Pigeon” through Shadow 

Theatre.

Ingredients:

Method: 

Put sugar, mint leaves and lime water in a glass.
