Holliston Mill<br />
Open Studios <strong>2019</strong><br />

& 3rd<br />
Fall is in the air and that<br />
means the Holliston Mill Artists’<br />
Open Studios are just around<br />
the corner. The annual week<br />
end event of music and art takes<br />
place this year on Saturday and<br />
Sunday, November 2 and 3,<br />
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.<br />
A record number of 34 artists<br />
are participating, including<br />
27 resident artists who will<br />
open their studios, as well as 7<br />
guest artists. Those who have attended<br />
the event in the past will<br />
recognize many of their favorite<br />
Mill artists and guest artists,<br />
who are former resident artists,<br />
as well as quite a few new artists.<br />
All are local to Holliston and the<br />
surrounding area.<br />
Many different kinds of art<br />
and a variety of media will be<br />
shown this year: everything<br />
from traditional oil, watercolor<br />
and acrylic painting on canvas<br />
and paper, to fishing lures and<br />
fashion. Other work includes<br />
sculpture, mixed media pieces,<br />
mosaics, photography and digital<br />
media, drawing, printing,<br />
jewelry and textiles.<br />
Holliston native, fine artist<br />
and singer-songwriter Erica<br />
Leigh will be performing on<br />
Saturday, from 11-2. Mill artist<br />
and cellist Sara Stalnaker of<br />
Holliston will perform a selection<br />
of folk, jazz, classical and<br />
pop music from 2:30 to 3:30.<br />
Sunday’s performers with include<br />
singer-songwriter Katie<br />
Frassinelli of Holliston, 11-2,<br />
and Sara Stalnaker, 2:30-3:30,<br />
performing Sonic Landscapes, an<br />
educational concert for all ages.<br />
A craft beer and wine tasting<br />
will cap off the weekend on<br />
Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m., hosted<br />
by Holliston’s own Crafted, Merchants<br />
of Craft Beer and Wine.<br />
Light refreshments will be<br />
served in studios throughout the<br />
building both days.<br />
The Holliston Mill building,<br />
an 1800’s shoe factory, is located<br />
at 24 Water St. Currently,<br />
the mill is home to several small<br />
businesses as well as artists’<br />
studios. The structure remains<br />
largely as originally designed.<br />
There is plenty of free parking<br />
available.<br />

Dean College will hold a free<br />
E-Commerce conference on<br />
Wednesday, <strong>October</strong> 23, <strong>2019</strong>.<br />
The event is open to students and<br />
the local community.<br />
The keynote speaker of<br />
the event will be Jules Pieri,<br />
co-founder and CEO of The<br />
Grommet. The company’s Citizen<br />
Commerce movement is<br />
reshaping how consumer products<br />
get discovered, shared and<br />
bought. The Grommet is her<br />
third startup, following roles as<br />
VP at Design Continuum and<br />
President of Ziggs.com. Pieri was<br />
