THE SINGLE FIN (LEFT)
“Go Big or Go Home” – In board length that is! A
lot of the time the surf sucks, so you will be going
home unless you’ve got a board as big as this in your
quiver.
The single fin will make you feel soulful, while still
having cutting edge softboard technology under
your feet. It’s also perfect for surfing finless
Designed for long points but will easily help get your
wave count up on the tiny days. Now go sit an extra
10 metres out the back and snake everyone.
THE SINGLE FIN 6’0 (RIGHT)
A retro feel that is sure to spice up your surfing.
The 6’0 Single Fin uses the same template as the
Fresh Bean but rides completely differently.
The Single Fin set up gives you plenty of hold and
stability when cruising down the line. There’s less
drag with one fin, so the board is extremely fast
through many sections.
Like all Single Fins, there’s no use to pump down
the line with this thing. To get the best out of it,
you need to use your intuition, pick your line and
ride what nature has given you. In return, smooth
surfing will be rewarded with fluid and flowing turns,
allowing an emphasis on form and style.
BOARD SPECIFICATIONS
LENGTH
This is the overall length of the board. See the Bodyboard Height and Weight Chart for correct lengths.
WIDTH
Wider boards work best in small, weaker surf as they provide more flotation to get you through the sections. Narrower boards are suited to
bigger, more powerful waves.
NOSE-WIDE POINT
This is the distance from the nose to the widest point of the board. The distance from the nose will determine the overall template. A high
wide-point is suited to prone boards. A lower wide-point is best suited to versatile and drop-knee boards.
RAIL
50/50: An even blend between top rail (chine) and bottom rail. best for smaller, lighter riders in small surf.
60/40: 60% bottom rail and 40% top rail (chine). The original rail set-up and standard for riders in powerful surf.
TAIL
A narrow tail will make the board loose and easy to release for spins and quick turns. A wider tail will pick up speed faster than a narrow tail,
but is harder to turn.
CHINE
This is the part of the bodyboard’s rail that wraps over the side of the bodyboard from the deck. It’s usually much smaller than the bottom part
of the rail.
TEMPLATE
This term refers to the basic shape or outline of the bodyboard (i.e.. narrow nose, wide nose, etc).
ROCKER
The rocker refers to how flat a bodyboard is. If you lay the bodyboard flat on the ground, and it doesn’t rise up at all in the tail, it has “flat
rocker”. Naturally, the nose curve is going to keep the nose off the ground, but the tail on most production bodyboards should be flat. The
more “banana-like” the curve in a bodyboard, the more rocker it has. The rocker of a bodyboard will change as it ages because of the different
materials that are used on the deck vs. the bottom. Deck skins tend to expand faster with age. Heat accelerates this process, so keeping the
bodyboard in a cool place when not in the water is the best defense for this problem.
EPS CORE
Extreme composite core that is strong and lightweight offering great flex, speed and flotation. 100% Waterproof.
POLYETHYLENE CORE (PE)
2.5pcf Extruded Polypropylene core for colder waters and riders wanting flex.
NRG CORE
Developed using cutting-edge expansion cell technology, NRG Core has been specifically formulated to duplicate key performance
characteristics found in original Dow cores. By incorporating the latest advancements in calibrated cell-fusion and ESP (engineered stringer
placement), NRG Core possesses excellent recoil and projection properties. The lightest high-performance core on the market.
KINETIC POLYPRO CORE (PP)
KPP is a state of the art engineered Bodyboard core. A lightweight core that is fusion formed to create a nucleus that delivers incredible
flexural properties, including instant recoil, enhanced longitudinal stifness and awesome compression strength. 100% Waterproof.
8 POUND PE DECK SKIN
5mm 8 pcf Wave Cushion non crosslink polyethylene deck and rail skins. The premier skin for high performance boards
CROSSLINK PE DECK SKIN
Irradiated crosslink polyethylene deck and rail skins. Super fine cell structure with less than 1% water absorbtion.
HIGH DENSITY SLICK SKIN (HD)
Hard wearing, high density slick skin for stifness and speed.
SURLYN SLICK SKIN (HD)
Finest grade authentic Dupont Surlyn slick skin. Surlyn exhibits rubber-like properties for superior projection.
REFLEX CONSTRUCTION
Spring loaded flex construction - NRG Core, Triton Stringer System & Dual Linx Mesh. This board has excellent rebound and great flex while
holding its strenght
EXERT CONSTRUCTION
Similiar to the reflex core construction. It still contains the Dual Linx Mesh and the NRG core but this construction only consist of a single
stringer, giving it a little more flex than the Reflex core construction.
ZERO CONSTRUCTION (TENSION TECH)
Tension Tech is a sandwiched mesh sub layer. It consists of a sheet of mesh sandwiched in between two layers of 1.5mm IXLPP (Crosslink
Polypropylene). This allows us to produce a much thinner core without sacrificing strength, resulting in an incredibly strong board with excellent
recoil.
SINGLE STRINGER
A stringer is a hollow, filament wound composite fibre tube used for board strength and instant recoil. A board with a single stringle should not
be plugged through the centre of the board.
DOUBLE STRINGER
Two stringers that run parrel down the each side of the board. We suggest that boards with double stringers are plugged through the centre.
TRITON/TRIDENT STRINGER SYSTEM
The Triton/Trident Stringer System consists of the 3 Stringers. One full lenght strigner running down the centre and two half size (400mm)
running down each side of the board.
ISS STRINGER SYSTEM
Interchangeable Stringer System revolutionises high performance bodyboarding by giving the rider the freedom to fine tune the flex of their
board for optimum performance in all wave and water conditions. Using patented Load & Lock technology, ISS stringers are inserted and
removed with the turn of a key. The ISS range of stringers utilises the latest advancements in composite construction and manufacturing
technology to create a quiver of shafts that covers the full spectrum of a riders flex requirement.
MESH SYSTEMS
Mesh is a diamond shaped plastic mesh weave, laminated between the core and the slick for improved stifness and recoil.
DECK BULBS
Raised nose grips placed on the top of the core, under the deck skin, to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand.
SLICK BULBS
Raised nose grips shaped into the corners of the Surlyn bottom, ergonomically formed for fingertip control.
GRADUATED CHANNELS
Graduated contours increase the surface area of the slick and channels the laminar flow of water along the rail / hull for enhanced edge control.
DECK CONTOURS
Deck contours are ergonomically designed deck profiles that lock the hips and forearms.
CNC SHAPED TEMPLATES
Precision cut template shaped by a purpose built CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine.
THERMAL FORMED DECK
A thermal formed deck is a contoured skin that allows traction in the essential areas due to the embossed paterns formed on the deck. The
“feel” a rider receives from these contours gives greater grip and traction to the board.
AKU SHAPED SINGLE HULL CONCAVE
A rail to rail single concave is often used in place of channels. This provides lift, facilitating water flow and providing greater speed, especially
in large clean conditions
AKU SHAPED DOUBLE HULL CONCAVE
This is derived from the most common contours used in surfboard design. This splits the water flow into double channels, creating a looser ride
ideal for top to bottom style of surfing or bodyboarding. It is generally best suited to Dropknee riding.
AKU SHAPED GRADUATED CHANNELS
Channels digitally designed and shaped using AKU shaping programs and technology (as per surfboard technology). This allows channels to
be positioned closer to the rail, and re produced accurately for greater effectiveness.
BAT TAIL
Protruding bulb increases the boards planning area for optimal down the line speed. the wings lock the tail in throughout the turn. Machine
rounded deck contour for rider comfort.
CRESCENT TAIL
Classic 40° radius curve cut, for rider comfort and quick release. The tail blocks are precision cut for maximum drive out of the bottom turns.
