168 TWO EXCEPTIONAL CARVED WILLOW WALKING STICKS, MICHAEL CRIBBINS (1837- 1917), LAKE ORION, MICHIGAN, CIRCA 1900 One cane inscribed MIKE BRADFORD, other cane inscribed DICKERSON DETROIT MIKE ORION F.B. Lengths 37 ¼ in. and 35 in. PROVENANCE Gaimpietro American Folk Art, New Haven, Connecticut. $ 6,000-8,000 169 TWO VERY FINE CARVED WOOD WALKING STICKS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY One cane with a sock and shoe is carved with an American eagle, chicken, horses, stars and leaves. The second cane with a snake head grip and terminating with a human foot is carved with a man drinking, a horse, a dog, a seated lady and numerous animal heads. It is also carved with different words and the name BELIEN. Height of tallest: 37 ½ in. $ 1,500-2,500 170 TWO VERY FINE PATRIOTIC CARVED AND POLYCHROME PAINT DECORATED WALKING STICKS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY The first cane is carved with the inscription PRESIDENTS OF THE USA and the various president’s names and inauguration dates. The second is carved with an admirals name and the ship he captained. Both are decorated with a painted depiction of the American flag.
