241 FINE FRENCH MOTHER-OF- PEARL AND EBONY INLAID MAHOGANY AND ROSEWOOD HURDY GURDY, CIRCA 1770 Guitar shaped body with mahogany table crossbanded with ebony and ivory, the rosewood sides interspersed with ivory stringing. The ebony veneered keybox cover and chien and later ebonized wheel cover with mother-of-pearl inlay; the pegbox ornamented with embossed diaper and terminating in carved female head; ivory handle.
