FREELANCE PORTFOLIO
FREELANCE PORTFOLIO
CONTENTS
Welcome, this portfolio focuses solely on my freelance career and showcases my
favourite bits of work, as well as some of my personal design endeavours from the
period January 2018 - present.
During this period I have been working as a Freelancer which is a part of my career I
have thoroughly enjoyed. After leaving my last job as a Graphic Designer for Swann
Creative, (an Agency that formed part of a larger parent company - Pacific Music
Group), I decided that it was the perfect opportunity to have a go at freelancing full
time. My main reason for doing so was that I wanted to have the freedom to pick
jobs that I found personally fullfilling. As well as hopefully through doing so, come
to more of an understanding as to what kind of designer I actually wanted to be.
As a result of this I can now say with confidence that my passion as a designer truely
lies within the areas of Visual Identity and Illustration. However I have also worked
extensively in other areas including Environmental, Motion, Publication, Marketing &
Advertising Design.
As a freelancer I managed to maintain a succesfull long term working relationship
with a number of clients including:
• RNB Fridays (Ivy) (Merivale)
• The Spot Saturdays
• The Spot Fridays
• ICON Events
• Sound Agents
• Showtek Entertainment
• The Club
• Northern Beaches Hospital
• Forest Print Services
• International Traveller Magazine
As well as doing a multitude of short term work. The areas of Design I have worked
in consistently include:
• Art & Illustration
• Environmental Design
• Motion Design
• Publication Design
• Marketing / Advertising
DESCRIPTION
I do all the design work for RNB Fridays at Ivy
which is run by Merivale. I first started working
for Merivale at my old job as a Graphic
Designer for Swann Creative. When I left to
begin my freelance career, Merivale offered this
work to me, which has been a great solid part
of my weekly work ever since.
I do their weekly Flyers, and have helped
evolve their visual identity to the point where
they are now easily identifiable as seperate
from all the other RNB Fridays clubs around the
country all of which are owned by 2day FM.
I also do their signage, menus, banners,
posters, screen displays and have created
promotional videos for their Live Act special
events for people like Sean Kingston and Jay
Sean.
DESCRIPTION
I have worked with The Spot since the
beginning of my Freelance career. I do all of
their design work and have helped build their
brand on their journey from one club in the
Sydney CBD to now two with a newer one in
Western Sydney. This also meant we had to
evolve two seperate yet similar visual identites
one for the Western Sydney club, The Spot
Fridays and the other for their Sydney CBD
Club, The Spot Saturdays.
The Spot Saturdays is their main event so the
visual identity for The Spot Fridays is purposely
more repetitive.
Aside from the two weekly flyers I do for
The Spot, I have also done all their in-club,
environmental design like banners, posters
and even on stage screen displays. As well as
editing club footage into short promotional
videos.
DESCRIPTION
Album covers are something I have always
been obsessed with. To me they are the perfect
marriage of two of my greatest passions being
music and art. So naturally throughout my
freelance career I have picked up any
opportunity I could to create album covers.
Some of these were proper payed jobs where
as others were my own tributes to some of my
favourite Hip Hop Albums.
Seedy Knee is my own clothing street wear
been working on since 2012. Over the years
I have completely rebranded it three times as
my design style has evolved and changed. The
following pages showcase Seedy Knee in its
current iteration.
The brand is heavily influenced by many of my
interests and hobbys including Traditional
Tattooing, Skate culture, Hip Hop, Heavy Metal
and Video games.
DESCRIPTION
Working for Northern Beaches since the
beginning of 2019 has been a great experience
for me. The first job I did for them was to
design huge illustrated jungle murals to be
stuck onto the windows of the premature baby
ward. From there I began doing their entire
monthly internal newsletters by myself and
over time began picking up some smaller jobs
for them also like posters for various events
and signage to be used in a range of areas in
the Hospital. I have also been doing their
Specialist Directory (like a Yellow Pages for
Doctors).
are life size and show where each tool should
DESCRIPTION
Prestige Hardware and Protec Building
Products are both owned by the same entity.
This job was a bit different in that the business
cards had already been designed and used for
a number of years, however they needed to
create new ones for new staff members but the
original design files had been lost. It was my
job to recreate them as they were.
DESCRIPTION
One Night Only are special event nights held
monthly at Limited Club in Potts Point. As I
have made the flyers for this event since its
conception there was no visual identity to
follow, so I created one that is easily repeatable
and identifiable, whilst still maintaining what I
feel is a fresh, inner-city night club personality.
DESCRIPTION
Gustavo was a special event “sunday sesh”
that was held on the island in Sydney
Harbour. They needed a flyer with a tropical
visual identity.
This Single Cover design was for an RNB
Singer known as RACHAD from Western
through his label anonymously which is why
his name is not on the cover. I intially created
over ten draft versions for him to choose from
but he liked them so much he wanted me to
create four seperate finalised versions as seen
here. They were all used for merchandise as
well.
wanted a logo that reflected this. She also
plays a lot of Reggaeton & Tropical house
music when she DJs which is what influenced
the colour scheme.
