What does PRIDE mean to me7
Alaina Giesbrecht lives with her wife in Winston-Salem. She
has served on the Board of Pride Winston-Salem since
February 2019. "For me, the Pride parade and festival has
always been a time for family and fun. Pride is an opportunity
for everyone to express themselves in a safe space, to build
community and connection, and to honor the brave individuals
that have worked and continue to work tirelessly to bring
about a more just and compassionate world."
out with being a backup dancer for club events and pageants,
choreographing winning talents for NC pageants and beyond,
then worked his way up to becoming a male lead entertainer.
He Has 7 pageant titles under his belt, with his first male lead
pageant title being Mr. Holiday. He has 9 drag kids and is
employed by places such as Busch Gardens, Carowinds, and
this world.
My name is Jared Hunter. I am 28 years old, and married the
love of my life almost three years ago. I graduated from
Appalachian State University with a degree in Political Science
in 2014 and currently work for the North Carolina Department of
Public Safety. I grew up in Clemmons, and moved into Winston
Salem after graduating college. I feel a strong connection with
the city and always look for ways to get involved where I can.
To me, Pride is about connections. A sense of belonging and
community. Serving as a Pride Winston-Salem Board member
gives me the opportunity to help in building that community
and to strengthen those connections. The ones between not
only this organization and our partners, but the connections we
build with each other.
Lovelee- Pride is the love and harmony that makes our
community great! With pride we are able to grow, develope and
encourage love, providing refuge and acceptance to all in need.
