for a neighborhood event to
discuss together how Rîșcova
could become a better place. Ten poten -
tial projects were presented in a row.
The adults voted in favor of streetlights.
The children who could vote separately
choose a youth and sports club with indoor
facilities.
But it isn’t only the result that mattered.
This was the first “villagers assembly” in
the history of Rîșcova. EcoVisio took over
the role of a placemaker that inspired the
locals to collectively reimagine and reinvent
their village and, thereby, create a
supportive rural community. Valeria and
Julian are grateful for this experiment:
“We need to grow into the village
and become a part of the existing
structure. Now we have a list of
plans and we cannot wait to implement
them. Of course, it will be
possible only together with the
village community.”
