Jennifer Gilmour is a domestic abuse survivor and<br />

has received an award for using social media for<br />

good with The UK & European Social Media Marketing<br />

Awards 2019. The SMM awards recognise<br />

the best campaigns, individuals and tools in Social<br />

Media Marketing.<br />

Jennifer is an author and advocate for women in<br />

abusive relationships, using her own experiences as<br />

a catalyst to bring awareness and to help others.<br />

Jennifer has two publications, Isolation Junction<br />

and Clipped Wings which have both been Amazon<br />

Best Sellers and received awards.<br />

I was in shock when my name was announced, I am honestly<br />

honoured to win an award that recognises using social media for good. I felt like I was<br />

representing all those who have experienced domestic abuse. Together we are louder.<br />

A committee of Fishmerchants based in <strong>Hull</strong> were delighted to present Dove House Hospice with<br />

£500 recently and in doing so, took their fundraising total to over £10,000 for the <strong>Hull</strong> based charity.<br />

Known as the <strong>Hull</strong> Fish Merchants<br />

Dance Committee, they work hard<br />

each year to host an annual Charity<br />

Ball, often featuring a well-known<br />

tribute act to entertain their guests.<br />

Next year sees the <strong>Hull</strong> Fish Merchants<br />

celebrate their 92nd anniversary<br />

ball take place on 14th Feb<br />

2020. Featuring UK tribute act Rod<br />

Stewart and his band The Faces,<br />

the evening will feature many of<br />

his hits at Willerby Manor Hotel.<br />
