KEYNOTE SPEAKER LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS HINDU YOUTH AWARDS <strong>2019</strong><br />
Hindus of Greater Houston (HGH) was<br />
founded in 1989 to unite all Hindu Organizations<br />
in the Greater Houston area and celebrate<br />
together one major Hindu festival. We co-sponsor<br />
all Hindu Festivals and support all major community<br />
events - Sankranti Kite festival, Jagannath Rath<br />
Yatra, International Yoga day and Diwali Dusshera<br />
festival to name a few. We serve as one reference<br />
point of contact <strong>for</strong> all Hindu Community and<br />
actively participate in all outreach programs.<br />
We work with Interfaith Ministry and participate<br />
in their events. HGH proudly celebrates Hindu<br />
<strong>Youth</strong> who are the future leaders of society.<br />
<strong>Youth</strong> involvement in the Hindu Community<br />
is our highlighted focus and we serve through<br />
our two wings of HGH. Young Hindus of<br />
Greater Houston (YHGH) and Hindu Heritage<br />
<strong>Youth</strong> Camp (HHYC) who are independent entities<br />
enjoying continued success and growth under<br />
the banner of Hindus of Greater Houston.<br />

RISHI BHUTADA<br />
Rishi Bhutada, Board of Director of Hindu American<br />
Foundation. HAF is a non-profit advocacy organization<br />
<strong>for</strong> the Hindu American community. HAF’s three areas of<br />
focus are education, policy, and community.<br />
Rishi Bhutada is the Vice President of Finance at Star<br />
Pipe Products in Houston, TX and holds an MBA from<br />
Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics<br />
from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.<br />
He also coordinates HAF’s Houston Chapter. He was<br />
the Media and Public Relations Coordinator <strong>for</strong> “Howdy<br />
Modi” event recently held in Houston on September 22 nd<br />
<strong>2019</strong>. He won the India House Houston’s Young Leader<br />
of the Year Award in 2013, and the Hindus of Greater<br />
Houston’s Akhil Chopra Memorial Award in 2014.<br />
ACHARYA SHRI GAURANG NANAVATY<br />
Sri Gaurang Uncle conducts Satsang <strong>for</strong> adults. His<br />
discourses on a wide range of Vedantic texts, from the<br />
Bhagavad Gita to the Upanishads, encourage reflection<br />
and contemplation while catering to seekers at all levels<br />
of experience. He also guides many Study Groups on the<br />
other days of the week to make Vedanta applicable in<br />
daily life. He travels to various Chinmaya Mission locations<br />
in the US, Canada, and overseas to share the wisdom of<br />
Vedanta. Since 1982, Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami<br />
Chinmayananda, he along with Smt. Darshana gave up<br />
their professional careers and undertook the study of<br />
the Hindu scriptures. He is one of the founding members<br />
of the Advisory Board of HGH we are very honored to<br />
celebrate his achievements.<br />

encouraged by the next global head of Chinmaya Mission,<br />
Swami Tejomayananda, Darshana Aunty has compiled<br />
the Bala Vihar series of curriculum textbooks <strong>for</strong> the<br />
benefit of all CM centers Her creative productions, a<br />
multimedia CD-ROM version of the Bhagavad Gita titled<br />
“Journey to the Truth” is a beautiful gateway to the<br />
timeless wisdom of the Gita. Her new “Gita 365” mobile<br />
app, which gives a 3-4 minute message from Bhagavad Gita<br />
