SilverTape – Heat Activated 79-Series
SilverTape® HA7912
These SilverTape products are constructed of two different adhesive systems. One side consists of a hotmelt
adhesive that is inactive at ambient temperatures. In application to extruded EPDM or TP seals, this adhesive is
activated by a heat source. This activated adhesive than melts together with the extruded rubber seal forming a very
strong and permanent bond.
The other side of the heat activated tape consists of a pressure sensitive adhesive. Here you will typically find the
same adhesive system as the ones used in our Automotive SilverTape range. Depending on the substrate AFTC offers
the following heat activated SilverTapes;
Materials suitable for bonding with SilverTape
HA79-Series:
HA79-Series: bonding EPDM or TP profiles and weatherseals to LSE surfaces like scratch resistant or dirt repellent
clear coats in automotive as well as several kinds of plastics. Due to its low density the HA79-Series is extremely
conformable and therefore very suitable for applications in which the weatherseal or profile is bonded in radius like
corners or other curved parts of the car.
