For details, call Linda Markowitz at 914.347.1292 or email to Linda@RoseMarkLaw.com. ◗ Raise the Age Raises Issues from page 5 Court as well as the lack of appropriate housing for these newly labeled “youths.” Both Ms. Borkowski and Ms. Bunting Smith expounded on the difficulties of having to accommodate weekend arraignments at juvenile detention facilities and the obstacles that they must overcome in order to simply talk to their clients before they enter court. All of the panelists agreed that these issues - as well as new ones yet to be identified - would be multiplied ten-fold once the second year of the legislation goes into effect and 17 year olds are now included. The Criminal Law and Family, Children, and the Courts Committees would like to thank the sponsor of this event, Dennis Supraner of Professional Liability Consulting Services, Inc., who generously donated to support this event.
